New baby coming home Friday I am new to YT bringing my new male yorkie home on Friday he'll be 10 weeks and I'm very excited. I have a 4 year old son and he's excited too, we have decided to name our new addition Cash. I will be confining him to a space upstairs in my room via an exercise pen as well as litter box training him. I've already gained a wealth of knowledge so far and am sure if I have any questions you all will be able to help. The only question I have right now is what type of starter toys should I have for him? |
welcome to YT and congrats on your soon to be lil boy. I love his name "cash". Teething toys are good starter toys, Pet Supplies, Pet Smart, PetCo has good quality toys. Rubber squeakies are fun toys for babies. Please be careful with your 4 y/o son around the puppy if he picks him up, these pups are very hyper and wiggly. Little Cash will fill your lives with much laughter and happiness. Good luck. |
Thank you for your response, I will be heading to petsmart throughout the week to finish getting things for him. My son has experience with small breeds as my parents have a 6 pound toy poodle, and rules already in place that he doesn't pick the doggy up with out mommy, nana or grampy there. |
Our pups favorite toys were small colorful"Petstages"teethers ,nylabones- the softer puppy one and the blue bumpy one, a small "Skineez"- unstuffed animal toy w/ squeaker, a small ball (Not the tiny tennis ones- they chewed off the fuzz), and woven/braided fleece strips made from an old fleece throw that we cut into a few puppy size blankets (cutting off the overcast sewn edges). My girls favorite toys now are recycled cloth infant toys with rattles, crinklybits or squeakers. |
