Pet transporting/airplane? Hello to all(: I am currently in Texas and plan to be here until August 17. I'm currently living in California but had to come out here due to my sisters heart surgery. I thought leaving my King with my husband was not a bad idea, which really it isn't but still...I miss him and I would just feel 100 times better if he were here with me. I would just like to know if any if you have used a pet transporting company before? Or have any of you shipped your dog on a plan, alone, to another state? Also how much was it for either of these options. I'm really thinking about possibly getting him to Texas. Thanks! |

My new owners fly into Houston Hobby via Southwest Airlines....a round trip ticket for the owner plus the $100.00 in cabin pet fee, is still usually less expensive than a pet transport service, or shipping via plane. When they are carried in cabin, your pet does not need a health certificate, which my vet charges $125.00. And your King would be much happier in cabin with your husband, than flying alone..... |
Never done anything like that before but if any if it is in cargo I would not do it that's just not a good place for a doggy. |

There is a YT member who has done pet courier flights for years...I'm not sure if she's still doing it or not, but her user name is LuvMySissy: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/member.php?u=9980 |
I know one of the pet transportation services went out of business......and I know unless they have changed policy, PetFlight will not fly puppies under 9 months of age, so I was never able to utilize their services. I would love to know what they would charge you for this trip, if you decide to go with them.....everything I have checked into, Southwest Airlines in cabin with new owner has been most cost effective. Please keep us updated on what you decide to do! |
