Should I be worried about this? So many times when I pick up Toto I hear his right shoulder pop/crack. He never makes a whine or show it hurts, but I know when my knees pop it kinda hurts, esp when it's cold out. He is 9 yrs old now, but should I be concerned? I gave glucosamine to Uni for her LP for a few years. Didn't seem to make a lick of difference. Should I try something for Toto? No I have not yet been to the vet yet. Thoughts? |
Hmmm...hard to say what's going on there...it could be nothing. Maybe next time you have him in, ask for a quick xray of the area, just to get a look? Or, the vet may be able to tell the joint is fine just by palpating and doing range of motion. |
In Peek A Boo's final years I nicknamed him Rice Krispies! Snap, Crackle, Pop! Everytime I picked him up something was cracking or popping... scared me to no end! He always seemed fine when I put him back on the floor, walking okay and everything. I think my vet called it ODS (Old Dog Syndrome). It started out in a leg, but as he aged it happened it seemed to be all over. I was always super careful holding him, and he never acted painful. |
Thing is, I don't think 9 yrs old is old! And Toto is so playful and doesn't look or act like he is that age. We met a dog today that i thought was a puppy and he is 14! He didn't look old or crusty or anything. |
