Today was our official vet visit Greetings, I took Zoe to his first official vet visit today. Official because the 1st vet we went to did nothing and I was really upset so I changed vets. I am so glad I did. My vet has 2 yorkies of his own and treated my puppy like a prince. He got his second set of vaccinations and a stool test. All went well. Zoe did not get a bad reaction at all. He also got his nail clipped by the vets assistant which I was not comfortable with because it was her first time clipping. Zoe will be able to go outside in 3 weeks!! I can't wait to walk him!! Oh, my vet got me to but a $15.00 shampoo that he can't use till he's 6 months...weird! It was a pricey visit but all worth it. Thank ya'll for all the advice!!! |
congratulations on Zoe being healthy; give him all the love he needs and he'll give it right back to you ;; |
That is great news on your new vet and it sure does help when they understand Yorkies. I am curious what shampoo he had you buy and why the wait??? Do tell :) |
I am glad your vet visit went well. It sure sounds like you found a good one who has experience with fur babies. What kind of shampoo is this that Zoe needs to be 6 months prior to using? |

*efa Hylyt HAs anyone heard of this? I thought it was weird cuz Zoe is 3 months old and he advised me not to wash him with it until he's 6-7 months. My only concern is why he made me buy it now if I have to wait 3 months? He said that this shampoo is better for their coat and it will not irritate them. |
I havent heard of that shampoo. When my my pups were young I used a tearless shampoo. Now that they are older I use CC Systems. That was probably the reason he said to wait to use a tearless while he is a pup. |
That is wonderful news! We had to take Bella to the vet yesterday to get checked out before we could bring her home and we definitely found our new and permanent Dr. His WHOLE family has nothing but yorkies, and he treated Bella so kindly, I couldn't believe it. We were so happy there! She has to go back in 2 weeks for her next round of shots and that will be her first official visit, too. :) I almost can't wait, lol! I hope she does as well as your Zoe. :) |
Does your dog have skin problems? Is anyone in your house allergic to dogs? The shampoo is soapless and is probably fine but I agree with you on why he wants you to wait to shampoo and also why buy it on the 1st visit. My guess is that he makes $$$ on the shampoo. I would also guess he does not want you using cheap dog shampoo's because they will dry a Yorkies coat out. Many members use CC products and I use Coathandlers. http://www.petcarerx.com/affiliate_p...pdp=2&upsd=699 |

CC Systems is Chris Christensen shampoos and Conditioners. I order them online but you can get them at Imapreciouspup too. |
Thanks for all the info!! I guess I'll use it since I bought it. I'll let you guys know how well it works in THREE months! HA |
