Moved Well Charlie and I are all moved to our new apartment, he seems displaced and he keeps looking for hubby I think, and I need help in helping him settle. we made the move Thursday and I dont go back to work until Tuesday, I have been leaving him a little every day so that he can get used to being in the new place alone. he does bark when I first leave but by the time I get home he seems to be fine. Is there anything else I can do for him? I am no longer close enough to run home from work everyday so he will be home for 8 hrs which is fine he wont have a problem with that. He IS a loner so I am hoping he will be fine any suggestions........ |
Music, leave music playing...when alone in silence they hear every sound etc...give him some music to drown out all those little noises. Other than that, sounds good! |

I prefer music because sometimes when the tv is on a certain character or a fight or whatever caused my pups to react barking and such! At least with music you can choose what they hear! I flood the house with classical! |

I don't have advice but I wish you lots of luck & happiness in your new home! Tell Charlie that Dolly wishes we were closer & she would visit him every day!!! |

leave something for hi, that smells like you, tshirt or something |
So far so good Well we have been here a week now and I went back to work on Tuesday, he was pawing frantically on the sliding glass door when I left the apartment but then when I came home he was asleep in MY bed (not his) in front of the fan LOL. I am thinking he is secure in the fact that I am coming home at the end of the day now, I was also concerned about him not being able to go out and potty for that long time frame but it hasn't been an issue either so looks like we are in the clear. These little ones are resilient! |
Charlie Brown is the best!!! I think he's enjoying his alone time & knows how great it'll be when you come home!! Dolly says "arf arf arf". |

I know I've heard of-& know-dogs who aren't interested in each other, or worse. I've been so lucky to have Dolly as my first dog because she's the most social little thing you'll ever meet. Both times I've added a dog to the mix she's been as excited as can be to have a friend. I have a friend with a beagle who knows he can't have another because Missy will not have it! |
