Safe Floor Cleaner? What cleaners do you consider dog safe for your vinyl/linoleum floors? I have been using vinegar/water but just dont feel like my floors are getting clean, they have a gummy feel to them. What can I use that is stronger but still safe? |
What about a steam cleaner that just uses water? |
I recently bought a steam mop for my tile floors and I love it. You don't have to use any chemicals and the pads are washable. |
I have a steam cleaner too and love it for my tile and wood floors. It also has an attachment that I can run over carpets to steam them. It doesn't shampoo/clean the carpet but I think they smell fresh after they have been steamed. |
I bought a steam cleaner and hated it. But there's a thread on Off Topic about the Hoover Floormate. Let me see if I can find it. Since that thread I can say that I'll never live without one again! Best thing ever & I'm on my 3rd one!!!! :) |

I have one and LOVE it! I have reumathoid arthritis and it does all the work for me. It vacuums but I do not use that feature so it lasts more... (me and my thoughts), so I vacuum or sweep and then use the Hoover. It scrubs and dries at the same time. I'm a microbilogist, so I use Lysol as cleaner which works fine with it. You can also use Mr Clean, but I prefer Lysol always. Never have seen the floors so clean! |
Hoover floor mate. |
I use mix of vinegar and water for my laminate floor |
Floors I think steam cleaners are great, no chemicals at all and no sticky floors. I have a Shark, very easy to use and lightweight. |
Ditto on the steam mop. Never use lysol products. |
I use a Shark, so it's just steam. If the floor, tile, has an especially dirty area or the grout is grungy, I spray a little Clorox clean up on it. Then I keep the dogs out of the area for awhile. |
It's vinegar and water for our floors...but they don't feel gummy...I wonder why yours are feeling like this. |
