Help please My goodness! Shew we just bought a new Yorkie she's so tiny' but she has been home for 3 days today! She's been fine until today, started off by me feeding her something NEW today' Caesar wet instead of hard Purina Pro...but she wasn't eating it good yesterday. Idk if it's where she's small or what? But then she threw it up bc she swallowed it whole' an came sit on the couch, started kinda acting weird! Biting her tail! Bobble headed kinda? And now she's asleep! She hasn't eat or peed since the vomit! So I'm worried just please help me, we bought her from a friend and she was very spoiled, never been outside and my husband didn't think anything of it yesterday an took her out so idk if that had anything to do with it or not??? I'm clueless when it comes to Dogs period! But we bought Maggie with hopes of my son who has a joint and muscle disease, something to do and he's turning 3 in a few days so it's his birthday present! So we would go looney if something happened to her... |
Hi and WELCOME to YT :)! I would go back to her previous food to see if she goes back to feeling/acting normal. If the bobble head stuff is still there, you absolutely MUST see a vet asap as it could be liver shunt symptoms or something neuro or neck related. After vomiting, she also could've been hypoglycemic - so if that happens again, I'd give her Nutrical or Karo Syrup right away. Lastly, be VERY careful with having a 3 yr old around such a tiny dog - a young child can easily and quickly hurt a tiny dog, without meaning to. Never let the dog alone w/ your child. |

As far as the head bobbing, I would call a vet to see what they say. |
Do you happen to have nutrical on hand? Since she's so small(how big is she?) If she's not eating you need to give her some to make sure she doesn't get hypoglycemia. Karo syrup will work in a pinch. I would take her to a vet if you haven't already...did the vet say anything on the initial visit for her wellness checkup? Please keep watch of your 3 year old with the puppy at all times and if you can't place her in her pen/crate. I only say this because children that age are still perfecting their motor skills and are a bit clumsy(i have a 5 year old :)). Welcome to YT! I hope your baby feels better and you post pics! |
How old is she? Has she had a vet check up yet sense you got her? |
do you have any update? |
How is your puppy? I hope she is doing well. Please update when you can. |
