Here is to people who do the right thing! Paralyzed man reunited with therapy dog | www.wsbtv.com SAN LEANDRO, Calif. — There was a happy ending in the search for a stolen service dog in California. Arthur Renowitzkyi says his dog, Love, has given him emotional strength since he was shot, robbed and paralyzed outside a club seven years ago. Someone snatched Love, a toy poodle, earlier this week while Renowitzkyi was busy getting out of his car at a park in San Leandro. The theft sparked a campaign for Love's return, with one of Renowitzkyi's friends offering a $5,000 reward. Meanwhile, Daymond Dixon, a disabled garbage truck driver, had purchased Love in a Walmart parking lot in Oakland for $375. He said he bought the dog, which he thought was a puppy, for his aunt, whose dog recently died after being hit by a car. "And I saw this guy on the news and that's when I called my auntie and told her we have to take this guy his dog," Dixon said. Dixon returned the dog, refusing the reward and Renowitzkyi's offer to reimburse him the money he paid for Love There is a great video to go along with the story. Stories like this help you keep the faith that there are still some good people in the world. |
That is wonderful! What a standup guy! |
What a happy ending to a very horrible story. I just don't get what is wrong with people. Stealing a disabled man's dog and then selling it! Grrrrrrr  I'm so glad that the man that bought the dog in the Walmart parking lot was honest and returned the dog to it's owner. |
Great ending for this dog and his owner - home again to Daddy! |
I love happy endings...but stealing a dog and then selling it? What is wrong with people? I'm shocked at the people that find/steal dogs and either keep them for themselves or give them to friends and family. |
What a happy ending :) I love that the man that returned the pup refused the reward. What a genuine man! |
What a hero. Good man. Wish there was more like this. |
