Making Anna's weight watchers public 1 Attachment(s) OK. My girl has a weight problem. When the shelter got her she weighed around 4 pounds. By the time we got her she was up to 5.5 which was a good weight for her. But girl loves to eat and soon got up to 8 whopping pounds. Since Christmas we have been working hard to get her back into shape. She had stalled at 7 pounds for a long time. I am proud to announce that with 3 daily outside sessions and closely monitored food (my husband sneaks in snacks), she is down to 6 pounds 13 ounces. She also frolicked, jumped and ran through the yard last night. I think she is finally feeling the effects of losing that weight. Woo hoo AnnaBelle! Here is Anna at 8 pounds of glory. |
Good job mom! She is such pretty little girl. Im sure she was enjoying all that food and the attention on her new forever home. Now, if I could only do what she is doing and loose those extra lbs, I may be able to frolic, jump and run through the yard :D |
I'm sure she is as glorious at 6 lbs as she was at 8 pounds! Way to go on the weight loss, little girl, well done Anna! (and well done, Mommy, of course too!) |
YAY! She's adorable & probably feeling great. |
Anna is adorable! Good job on the hard work! I know how hard it is to say no to these precious babies! |
Awww, she's a cutie! |
Thanks for all the support. She really needs it. My poor husband honestly suffers through this. He can't stand denying her food. I mentioned the cost of knee surgery and thyroid medication and that helped a little. But he is a sucker for her sad pitiful feed me face. Last night when she was running and jumping, he even noticed how much healthier she was acting. Fingers crossed that we'll be able to get her to the weight the vet recommended and keep her there. |
Glad to know that there is a good chance for our little girl to lose some weight. Your little Anna is very cute and surely she feels better with her new figure. Ive been concerned for our girl because she just turned 1yr this month and weighted 7.3 at the vet this week. We have tried to monitor her meals and walk her for excercise. I know she loves to eat and gets so excited about her food. Could you give a few hints of what worked for you guys to curb Annas appetite. I dont want to ignore our chubby baby and she become too heavy. We know that would not be good for her health. Our vet even mentioned working on her weight so any suggestions you could give we would soooo greatly appreciate. Thanks You!! :) |

My main suggestions would be to measure her food and make sure she's getting exercise. Anna tires out quickly; so we take her out for 3 smaller sessions rather than one long walk. For a long time, she would just lay down and refuse to go anywhere. Little toot! Seeing her run and jump makes my heart smile. It's nice to know that she feels better. |
Pretty girl! Way to go on getting the weight off. I hope she continues to be successful! |
Congratulations on your success! I'm glad she is feeling more energetic. That should help encourage your husband to stick with the program. |
Happy to hear a success story. Bella's vet says she is too heavy, so we are working on dropping some weight, as well. |
