Let it go megansmomma, you are not the only one who knows how to search for a lost dogs owner. Gene said he tried and has continued to try and you just want to beat this subject into the ground. Your opinion matters, but not over everyone else. You have your opinion on things and everyone else does too. What is wrong with just trying to me nice, welcome the new guy and help with your opinion if you are asked. |

Who are you to tell me what I can and cannot post or what I "need to let go" pinkpatty? I can post and say whatever I'd like on whatever thread that I'd like. What exactly is "my opinion" other than I thought the OPer didn't understand how the forum worked  Furthermore, pinkpatty what I posted were FACTS and not opinions. There is a huge difference. The pictures that I posted of AnnaBelle are a FACT. The other member that I mentioned is a FACT. The couple of links that I posted are a FACT. The other post that I quoted are someone's OPINION that dirty dogs are neglected. I backed up my statement with FACTS. See how that works? Finally, explaining how the forum worked to the OPer that when someone quotes another member they are speaking to that person if a FACT. |
Welcome to YT GMohr. Please stick around. Some members can be overly "excitable" but the majority of us here are very welcoming and love to hear stories about our pups. Thank you for taking care of this sweet baby and trying your best to find out if there is someone who has lost her. In the meantime, give her the love she needs. And post pictures soon. Thank you for your service...today is a great reminder of it! |
Gene, please stick around. The reprimanding posts were directed at me for what I said. Sorry to everyone who flipped out but no collar and no microchip tells me an owner was not doing EVERYTHING they could to protect their pup in case it ever got lost. |

it is my opinion that all dogs should be microchipped and wear a collar at all times. Owners cannot predict when, where, how or why their pet might become lost. Here is an example that happened to me not that long ago. The ComEd meter reader came into my yard and left BOTH gates open. My daughter let Bogey and Doodlebug out to potty and because she had no idea that the guy left the gates open they both left the yard! Thankfully all mine always wear their collars and Dude came right back. Bogey on the other hand was found on the busy street by a very kind man that pick him up and brought him to our front door. They always have their Lucky Pet tags on their collars which has an 800 number to call as well as my home address and phone number. But what if that man had picked him up after thinking I was a neglectful owner for having my dog in the street or if I wasn't so adamant about collars to the point that even after a bath they are put right back on. You just never know what could happen (my opinion). |

I am really surprised by response of some members on this website. Obviously, OP posted that he has made a reasonable effort to find a dog owner but without success. OP sounds like a responsible dog owner and came to learn more about yorkies on Yorkietalk, and I don't understand why some members are so hostile. If my dog gets lost, yes I will be devastated and I would do anything to find her. But if I cannot find her, I would hope that a responsible person has found her to take good care of her instead of her ending up at a pound. Also, majority of you forget that most yorkie owners are not on Yorkietalk. Many yorkies are not adored by their owners or treated well - no one knows what background this yorkie is coming from (note she is not spayed - red flag to me). We should be happy that this yorkie found a caring family who tried to find an owner and now attempting to learn more about this breed. Sitting here and screaming that a dog is someone's property is really not in the best interest of this yorkie. She needs a loving family that would take care of her. To OP, I hope that you don't leave this forum. I think that you did the right thing in terms of looking for owners and now taking in and caring for this dog. This forum has a lot to offer in terms of care for yorkies and I hope that you stick to learn more. I also strongly recommend spaying the dog! |
I haven't left. I will stay and read. I spent 21yrs in the Army so that people have the right to speak freely. Just as I do. I will not apologize for my actions or words here. We have and continue to try to find this dogs owner. I do think the moderators should be more involved. But this is not my board, I am just a visitor. Here is a fact that megansmom doesn't know. We moved into our new house on 4 acres last weekend. Yet we still drove the 30 miles to our old neighborhood to canvas put up new flyers. We will go again in the next few minutes. So we continue. We will reach a point where it will not make sense to continue. I will make that call. Per the local shelter we have more than met the requirements to adopt the dog. They have had our contact information now for 31 days. We ran ads in the newspapers(do people still read those) and have followed the procedures given to us by the shelter. Oh, and the shelter was full so they asked us if we could keep the dog. They call and check on the dog weekly. If in the end we do keep her she will be well loved. Our cat already likes her. So megansmom, I hope we can agree to disagree and come to a peaceful end to this. Thanks to all for the support and love. I do believe there is much to be learned here. Gene, SFC(Ret) US Army |

I will personally be contacting the local shelter to provide them with the information that I've collected and hope they come knocking at your door! |

Nice that your FB is now gone......interesting Dog thief! |
Well, this just proves that you can't always take people at their word... sad. |
This is heartbreaking, Thank YOU Meagansmomma for refusing to back down, I think each of us can only dare to dread this happening to our babies. I've been there and it was a horrible experience. Imagine being out looking for your pup, searching night and day only your pup is safe in someone else's home because they decided they wanted to keep it..........horrifying. That pup doesn't look matted, neglected, abused, starving or anything BUT SCARED. |
megansmom I have not done anything to my Facebook page. Interesting that in order to get those images you would have had to hack my page. It is private and has been private since I signed up. No matter. Those image were taken on May 2nd, 2014. I waited 4 weeks to post. Just so you and the mods/Admin know, I will be reaching out to the FBI and Facebook to see about having stalking charges brought. I work in IT and often deal with issues like this but never thought I would have to do this to protect myself or my family. Never in my life. You lady are a piece of work. I do apologize to all. If the mods/Admin wish to remove me please feel free. I am tired of accusations and having to defend my actions to this woman. I am out of here. Best of luck to all who love their furbabies. Take care of them and if you find one do try to find it's owner. We are. Gene, SFC(Ret) US Army |

We are not always right, none of us, we are all different, we speak, we type, we portray things differently all the time...we have our convictions and our own styles of posting, no one here is going to make everyone happy all of the time, we are all different and its impossible. Sometimes when you spend a lot of time devoting your energy and time and experience on YT you do have a bad day, you do sometimes say the wrong thing or perceive wrong....etc....take it for what its worth. What I do know is that I have spent countless hours behind the scenes helping people helping PUPS. Some things I can't post about. But I know that Jodi has spent quadruple that going to help rescue a pup, putting up fliers posting all night all over the place to help pups. And even any one of you who had a "problem" with her today would come to her....she wouldn't hesitate to help. Go to far? Maybe sometimes, but all in all the good far outweighs the bad. Again Thank you for staying in this, and I know you will do everything youu can to help find that pups home Jodi, you may or may not succeed but you did a good thing today, and you really didn't have to. |

I'm surprised you an IT specialist wouldn't have thought of that! Gene, please, I beg you, no matter what....find that pups home. Please do the right thing, please. |
Believe what you want. I am right here. The 2 of you just can't except that someone would work as hard as we have. But that is okay. I will continue to defend myself from self-righteous people such as yourselves. The dog is safe, and the owners whoever they may be are free to come get her. They have been from day one. Yes I am in IT and my FB page has and will remain only available to those I know and trust. So go ahead. Make this your own little playground. I am having a great laugh now at what a joke 2 people can make this board. Thanks again to those who were kind. and yep.. I smell something too lynzy420, but it is not on this end. Peace to all. That dog is darling & certainly looks cared for. The little white toes on the back foot make it very distinctive & should be easy to describe. Someone is grieving the loss of their sweetie. |
I know for a fact his facebook was not completely private, I was able to see some of his posts just 30 minutes ago (when I saw the pictures on here). Now I can't see any posts, so something was definitely changed. And if looking at someone's facebook without them knowing makes them a stalker, then everyone on facebook is a stalker. |
That was after a bath, combing out and fed. Couldn't stand the smell prior. Read the entire post. We also took her to the Vet, heartworm test and meds, rabies vaccine, de-wormed(she was full of them). So yes, you does look well cared for now. We continue to search for her owners, contrary to what lynzy and megansmomma believe. I have asked the mods to remove the Facebook images as they are private and have been taken illegally. Anyone else? Bring it on. We are innocent and will continue to dispute anyone who claims otherwise. Passion for finding rightful owners is one thing, but I believe there are some here who need to spend more time with their fur babies than on the computer. We are off to canvas the neighborhood again now that the rain has stopped. Gene, SFC(Ret) US Army |

The kids call if FB stalking too. Not illegal so no need for the FBI, CIA, SWAT TEAMS OR FOX News to be called. :p Did I mention that I'm really good at internet detective work? Kind of a side hobby of mine ;) |
PEOPLE, what the heck is going on here??? First off, everyone needs to calm down, seriously. Are we witch hunting a fellow human being here, or what? This is not okay. I don't think anything has been truly proven here, it's not irrefutable evidence that this member has done something egregious and unethical. We do not know whether or not they found this pup a month ago or not, despite the FB pictures that were shown here. For all we know, they may have waited a month to post about this pup as he said. WE DON'T KNOW. If this dog *was* just found on Monday, I would certainly hope the truth would be told by the parties who truly know the absolute facts. But for now, shouldn't we allow him the space to explain himself, if he so desires? And he isn't required to explain anything if he so wishes. It would be nice to know what's going on since we all do care about this little pup. But why are we jumping to conclusions rather than giving this person the benefit of the doubt for now? For those who don't believe him, fine - that's your prerogative. But PLEASE -- there is no reason to go ballistic over this. If anyone is unable to remain calm in your communications in this thread, then walk away from it, please. |

We know the truth, you're another computer expert and stalker.:p I'm always wary when people start throwing their service years around. |

If some is missing a wanted dog, they are out there looking for it, posting flyers, notifying all local vets and shelters and sharing their loss online. Thank you for taking this baby in and vetting her. Sounds like she has found a home where she will be loved and cared for. People if you want your animals returned to you, microchip them! |
