looking for 3 Attachment(s) Hi my valentine is 15 weeks old and i am perplexed on what type of coat he is growing. Most ppl around here says he does not look like a yorkie😒 they all atr used to the very fluffy ones in my area. His hair on head is shiney and smoothe and his body is crazy( frizzy wavey some sheen and dullness to it. ) . But it is soft and doesnt mat and its like the fluffy part is scarce and hair on back of legs on scarce also. Anyone have any ideas on coat. |
Valentine looks like a Yorkie to me. Congratulations on the new addition to your life! Coat can be difficult to determine when they are puppies. Yorkie puppy coat is often a little fuzzy and prone to matting. Often it will get better around 6 months of age, but some develop later. My Teddy's coat continued to change in texture up to age 2. |
His hair doesnt mat and seems easy to brush. Maybe its the length it is now.that makes it easy. Should i get some of the fuzzies trimmed or should i just let it do its thing for now? |
It's hard to tell when there puppies what kind of coat they are going to have as an adult it's kind of a wait and see thing. I would not take him to get groomed until 2 weeks after his last set of shots. |
You defiantly have a Yorkie pup! She looks a lot like my Jezebel did at that age. She had thin hair and it would quickly become oily as a puppy. I spent years of researching Yorkies before actually owning one. I learned that Yorkies like her tend to have the most beautiful long shinny hair without lots of hard work. Lucky in Jezebels case it's true! She has long strong shinny hair, of course I do use excellent products to keep it beautiful. Olivia (aviator pic) was fluffy with very thick hair when she was a puppy. When her hair gets a few inches long I must cut it because it becomes matted no matter how hard I work on it. She just has so much hair and it's not shinny and strong like Jezebels. Livey has a "Cotten Coat" and I new immediately her hair would be tough to deal with. |
Haha jezebel she is a he :D lol my daughter named him because hes a chocolate and was bornclose to valentines day. My hubby said its. A sissy name. It fits him though hes afraid of the dark, aafraid of the bugs in the grass and if something falls on the floor near him he squeels like hes being attacked  my name pick was reese like the guy on svu show but she was adament it was to be valentine. |
Awe that's adorable. Wasn't the original Valentine a Saint and a man? I could be wrong, but it's still not a sissy name! :-) |
Looks all yorkie to me! And very cute! |
