that is terrible, I hate snakes luckily western wa not to many, but places I travel to have them |
I'm in GA too. We have copperheads. We had one in the garage one day and my husband freaked out. He didn't close the garage all the way and it creeped it. It probably lives in our wood pile and I don't go anywhere near that and always have kept my dogs away from it. We have found a few snakes. We live very close to the Chattahoochie River - there is no getting away from them. We are pretty vigilant when taken Ripley out. I'm going to check with my vet to see if they have anti venom on hand. You never know. |
Our vet gave MOGEE one vial of anti venom but he died before she could give him another. I just do not want people to think just because they had their dog vaccinated then they will be ok. Granted it does buy time. And if it has been in a limb maybe we could have saved him. AGAIN...I hate snakes. |
I've always wanted to live someplace warm like the south, except for the snakes. I am not really afraid of snakes, but that's because around here a venomous one is very very rare, and I can identify the native ones. Keep safe y'all. Them critters are scary. |
I'm glad you started this thread bc I thought my vet (a large multi-vet practice) office would carry it, but they don't. Only the vet ER does here. Thanks for a good reminder! |
Not only do you have to worry about the poisionous ones, my yard guy had a 5 foot boa in his back yard. Pet snakes get out all the time. They'd look at our little ones and think"snack time"! |
