puppy playpen? All, I am getting my 12 week old Yorkie on Saturday. He will be my first and I must say that I am quite excited. Of course I'm nervous, but I know I've read all I need to and am prepared for the impending lifestyle change. Looking ahead, I am concerned about a trip I will have to take this summer. In July, I will have to spend about 3 weeks in a hotel about 40 minutes from home. It is a pet-friendly property, so I'm not worried about the permissions issue. I am however concerned about the best way to leave him when I'm out during the day. The days may be a bit long for his crate, but I don't want to give him run of the room because I frankly don't trust the housecleaning staff to work around him, take care not to let him out, etc. The crate all day is a possibility, though not the preferred one. I was thinking of a baby playpen or some other contraption that would keep him confined but not too cramped. Has anyone seen anything that may suffice? I would like to get something that is either cheap enough to throw away after or that can be collapsed into a really small package for easy storage. Any insights you may have are helpful. Thanks in advance! |
Jag==get an exercise pin;;you can get them as small as 3 or 4 ft square, and 2 ft high . and they collapse; we use two together for our pups giving them a 4 by 12 ft play area;;room on one side for their food while on the other 2 wee wee pads ; jerry |
just to let you know....... toby's little pen settup that we constructed he managed to climb out of, it took him a whole two weeks to figure it out, now he is in his crate when we are gone |
When we first got Sailor, we bought a baby playpen/ port a crib and used it for her while we were at work/school...it worked great and allowed her some personal space...it was cheap and an easy way to have something beside a crate!! |
Just to let you know, my 3lb yorkie was able to literally climb his way out of the pen. We bought a cover for it, which kept him in there. However, when I came home after about 3 hours of work/school i would find a huge mess. He would play with his poop and throw it out of the pen or step on it. But i guess it just depends |
Esme stays in a baby playpen during the day while we are at work. It has worked out well for us so far. I paid around $35 for it at Walmart and it folds up. |
