Cerulean scares me. Every single time he goes outside he's trying to eat whatever he finds in the grass. I don't want to stop taking him out though because he's doing such a great job. Tonight he starts making this sound like something is stuck in his throat. This is my first dog ever so of course my first reaction was to call the vet who would be closing in 6 minutes. They told me I could make an appointment for the next day or take him to emergency. Well shortly after I get off the phone he clears whatever it was in his throat. This pup is definitely keeping me on my toes. Going to Petco this weekend to get him a cat harness since he's too small for his other ones. At least with the harness I can get his attention and remove him from the area quickly. |
Getting a harness is a GREAT idea :)! That will help you control him a bit better and keep him safe. |
Looked all over and can't find one that's small enough. The cat ones I see are for 8 pounds and up. He can squeeze out of a ferret harness. I know there are expensive options but I really don't have $40-$60 to spend on just a harness. Till I find something though just gonna keep him indoors. |

we just bought our newest little one a hamster harness...she's 2.5 pounds right now and it fits her....$10 at petsmart |
I have read that some people used ferret harnesses on their pups. I don't know how large/small they run but you may have to try online to find just the right type of harness for you. Puppia has an extra small step in harness that may work. It is really small and when placed properly, very secure. You have more control with a good harness. Puppia has two different types of harness but the step in seems to sit lower and away from the delicate trachea area. Some harnesses are too high up on the throat and can actually cause damage to that area. |
isn't he teething? Mine did random gagging noises whenever she swallowed one of her falling teeth. |
Yes he's teething but I'm not sure if any of his teeth have fallen out. He has a vet appt this weekend so I'll ask. |
