I'm taken for granted! My little pup and I sit around all day (when I'm not working) and enjoy our time together. He is very affectionate and playful, and we have a lot of fun together. BUT - when company comes - he goes absolutely crazy happy. No dog could wiggle more or wag it's tail more or faster than he does. And, he becomes a squirming little monster trying to get into their arms as fast as he can so that he can kiss and lick them todeath. I should be so lucky! I keep telling everyone -- "He never acts that way with me!" Guess we parents are just taken for granted.....right? Sometime when I have someone here --- I'm going to walk around the house and ring the doorbell -- and see if he acts that way with me. I don't think he will. He probably look at me like "Oh, it's just you." Carol Jean |
My male is crazy about me and strangers but my female is only crazy with the doorbell and could care less about me or any visitors... These little guys are so unique. I'm sure your little guy loves you maybe it is another dogs smell that makes it go crazy with other people? Or maybe you just have a great host :D |
toby is only like that with me when i first get home from work...... otherwise i am just a big comfy cusion. . . . when i go to my moms house and take him i am like chopped liver or something, he wont even come in my direction... he is all about GRAMMA... same thing when people visit our house though, if there is a new person here (someone other than mom and dad) then he is all abotu them ,..... oh well..... in his old age maybe he will slow down so people can actually see what he looks like ;) |
I actually have the opposite problem - Joey "only has eyes" for me. He'll totally ignore my boys if we come in at the same time. It hurts their feelings. |
I said that my dog goes crazy with company -- should have mentioned that I have a Bichon, had a poodlepom, and now have the Yorkie. They have all always gone bonkers whenever anyone comes over....not just the Yorkie. They totally love company. They do act the same way with me when I first get home from work. I'm glad that all my dogs have always been so friendly. They are never in a circumstance where being friendly to a stranger could harm them in any way. Whenever we leave home - they are leashed and with me - and still friendly. Took my Yorkie to the vet today for shots. The vet said he's had his kisses for the month. "What a wonderful personality," he said. I think it's touching that such little things can be so trusting. All the more reason, we need to take good care of them, watch them, and protect them. And - my pup weighs 5 1/4 lbs at 17 weeks. A perfect weight the vet said. Carol Jean |
If they're any thing like mine, they're just fasinated with new people...you know they love YOU best!! ;) |
