He is groomed... I really hate that I had to take all that coat off of him. I will try to post a photo later, I have my iPad, so I'm not sure if I can. |

From my experience, the fluffier they are as young pups around 8 weeks old the better chance they have of being a cotton coat. The thinner the coat they will more than likely be silk coat. |

Yeah, I have a Biewer cotton coat. I keep his feathers long for dignity, but scissor layer cut all over to about three inches like a long puppy cut. I keep his face fairly groomed but not too short. His tail is not totally full but about five inches long. I shave his under belly, poop slide and underarm area a little bit. Easy care. I brush with a soft bristle nylon brush. I have used the clipper and then down the back and the sides some but leaving the feathers if the weather gets too hot. I scissor cut because it doesn't shred the hair. |

I have a Yorkie and a Maltese...when I first got my maltese I was so in love with his coat. They have long coats like yorkies. I had his coat cut when he was about 9 months old. I soooo regretted it. I really miss the long look of the coat. So think about it real hard before u do it. |
