CKC registration Ok, I am probably opening up a can of worms here lol but, why do people refer it to a scam registry or puppy mill registry? I mean the AKC was open for what 25 years? And how did those dogs first get in? I think if the breeder is responsible and does health checks, why does it matter? I understand that CKC will register anything, I think thats what has been said, but I have noticed a lot of people who have AKC dogs moving over to CKC. They don't have limited registration either. Why so? I have seen, locally, a ton of dogs in puppy shops that are AKC. I also have known of people who paper hang their pups with the AKC, so now they have mixed breeds registered. I don't know, I was just curious to know why AKC is considered the Best. I know its been around for a while but I have seen just as many bad things in it as CKC or ACA. |

AKC does not allow mixed breed dogs to be registered for confirmation events. ACA, APRI and CKC do not require any kind of "proof" that a dog is pure bred. They don't even require proof that your dog is a dog. I have a breeder friend who registered her coffee table as a Great Dane, just to show potential buyers that she could. They never asked for proof, pictures, or other records. They took her at her word, and the word of 2 "witnesses". You certainly won't find AKC doing that. And while AKC has its issues, I would trust an AKC registration before I would even consider the other 3. (There are others as well) You get what you pay for, and there's a reason those puppies with ACA papers are only $300.00. |
