To chew or not to chew. Cerulean is choosing not to chew I guess. He's ummm more of a fabric kind of puppy, his thing is rope, lanyards, blankets and socks. Actually he truly enjoys playing tug of war with socks and his Kong ducky. He has quite a few plastic toys including a Kong but doesn't chew much. I have some Petco pet rewards so I'm going go to pick him up a puppy kong tonight which I hear might be easier for him. Not sure if this is normal but he also likes chewing on the hard tough weeds outside. He's not eating it just chewing on it. Is this normal? I mean, after finding Cerulean on top of the toilet seat this morning (I have no idea how) I am convinced I picked a crazy dog and nothing will ever be normal. |
Redirect and praise when he chews on appropriate things. Maybe he would like a dog rope toy with the fringes cut off? This is just normal puppy hehavior. :) |
Max still likes chewing on the soft toys I sew for him. I use a tightly woven soft poly blend fabric that he can't shred with his teeth. When he was a pup, he chewed on my dad's Levi's a lot. :D Helped with teething, I think. Both of my boys still grab weeds to chew on. Ugh! The worrier in me has to write -- make sure the toilet lid is always down. There has been at least one Yorkie pup who drowned in a toilet. :( |
Ohhh no...trust the toilet seat is always down. He's a climber and jumper so I don't trust it. I'm thinking I'll stuff a few stray socks for him. The Levis make sense because they're tough, have to see what's in my goodwill pile. |
We gave all of our puppy's a sock normally one we didn't have a match for and tied a knot in it so we knew it was there's and they all loved it. They have a fabric puppy teething toy you can soak in water and put in the freezer maybe he would like that. |
Lol ur pup isnt crazy. Yes it's normal and I happen to think our pups prefer chewing on things that have our scent on them i.e. socks. |
