what can I add to puppy dry food? Hi everyone. I have had a hard time getting my 4 month old puppy to eat. I can usually get her to eat her kibble by taking putting it directly on the floor, but sometimes even then she wants nothing to do with it. Overall she is eating enough, but I just want to find a way to get her to eat with out taking 10 minutes to "convince" her each time. I did try a small amount of canned chicken with some of the juice mixed in the kibble and she ate it up quickly and ate more than normal. Just wanted some more ideas of what I can add to her kibble to mix it up a bit. Can I used canned tuna? It seems to have less salt than the chicken. |
Yes you can use canned tuna juice or sardine juice. But, before I did that, I might try to change the puppy food. I suggest royal canin Yorkshire terrier 29 puppy formula available at petco or petsmart. Many Yorkies like it. |

Thanks for the suggestion. I thought about trying a different dry food, but I still have a lot of the stuff I'm using now and wanted to get rid of some more before trying to switch. I know a lot of people on here use the Royal Canin. |

When Harry was little, he really didn't like kibble either. I actually got quite desperate, and added just a little of a selection of things (one at a time!)....parmesan cheese, diced chicken breast with the stock it's cooked in, a little chopped boiled egg....and then made it a bit wet and mixed it up, so he couldn't pick out the best bits :D Good luck - I know how frustrating it can be! :) |
