Puppy schedule suggestion... As some have read from my previous post I am a full time working mom. I need help in making a schedule that will help Cerulean and my family. Ok here is how our day was pre-puppy. 6:00 - wake up 7:00 - smoothie and lunch prep 7:15 - daughters leave 7:30 - shower and dress 8:00 - out the door 8:15 - son leaves 3:15/3:30 - daughters get home 4:15/4:30 - son gets home 6:00/6:15 - I get home We've adjusted our schedule to fit the puppy in and do our best to maintain consistency I just feel like I'm doing alot of things wrong. I work 25 minutes away so coming home on lunch doesn't quite work because by the time I get home I only have 5 minutes to spend with him before I have to race back to work. I moved here a year ago so I don't know anyone to come into my house nor can I afford a $17 a day dog walker every day, maybe 2 or 3 days a week. My kids will be out of school in a month so this is only temporary but if anyone has suggestions they will be greatly appreciated. Please don't respond with your negative two cents about working and owning a dog, please. There are some people who want the joys of a dog but also like their bills paid too. |
I responded to your message on your page before I saw this . You guys have a schedule that will work. Especially given your kids get home before you and they can let the baby out if they are old enough . |
First, how old is the puppy right now? That can matter. If still really young, then I would race home at lunch even if just for 5 minutes - do that for the 1st mth until your kids are off school - then you'll be all set! The kids now get home early, so that's great...that's the perfect amount of time btwn your lunch visit and when they get home. I think it'll work fine :). |
He's 11.5 weeks but I decided not to go home on lunch anymore. He gets so upset to the point of vomiting and I can't do that to him everyday. I started him on a schedule that Rachel suggested and he's doing a lot better. No crying at all this morning. |
Oh and he's not crated just in a bathroom with his ex pen and lots of space. I leave his food and water too. When my kids get home he gets plenty of play and cuddle time when I get there. |
Happy its working out for you. Good Luck. I'm sure that with school about to be out, it'll help so much. Rachael |
