Guess what Last year at this time I was yearning for a Yorkie hence the name Yorkieblues. I had been diagnosed with dog and cat allergies. Saw an allergist and started shots. Was suppose to wait until Feb but in September Gideon AKA Buddy came into my life. WELL, in a couple of weeks I will be getting a little sister for Gideon. I have seen her and of course I think she is beautiful. I can't decide on a name. She hops when she runs so I was thinking of Bunny but do you think it's too close to Buddy and they would be confused? I was thinking of Jubilee like the year of Jubilee we are studying this week in bible study. Which lead me to freedom which lead me to Dharma, like to old sit com Dharma and Greg, she was such a free spirit. Picking a puppy name is harder than picking a name for my skin kids, at least I had almost 9 months to decide on their names. Any suggestions or help for me? |
I think Bunny is a cute name to go with Buddy. Congrats! |
The name Bunny is just adorable, but I do wonder if it's too close to Buddy for them to distinguish. It might be especially confusing for Buddy when you're trying to teach Bunny her name. The name Dharma is really cute too! I don't think we have any yorkies here named Dharma, so we need one :). I like Dhara too, as a play on Dharma. Jubilee is darling too, and that name would give you lots of cute nicknames too like Jubee, Ju etcetera. |
I know you wrote asking advice on names but I was wondering if your allergy shots have helped. I have dog and cat allergies but having a Yorkshire never bothered me as they have hair not fur. I sure hope they do help and hope you find a good name for your lil girl. I never thought to ask for advice on here when I got my Joey and just could not think of a name and for some reason the name Joey came to mind and so he was named for better or for worse. lol |
congrats on your soon to be new lil girl. In the past I when I had puppies I had to live with them to find their perfect name. I too had a baby that hopped when she ran, and did so up until she passed away at age 13. She always looked like a puppy because of the way she ran. I too think Bunny is really cute, but to close sounding to Buddy. I agree with wilie's mom, Jubilee because of all the nick names you can use. My last girl Matese had 7 nick names lol, and she answered to all 7.Good luck on selecting the perfect name for your lil girl. |
To name or not to name that is the question After talking with family, friends and Yorkie Talk, Bunny is out even through it is cute. When getting Gideon if she had been a girl it would have been Lyric. But now I'm not happy with that. I think I have settled on Bella. It rolls off the tongue easily. Once I get her and see how she is I'll let you know. One friend gave me two idea's First name her Five miles and then I can say I walk 5 miles everyday. His other suggestion was Trumpet because in the Bible Gideon had a trumpet so then she would be Gideon's Trumpet. I told him thanks for his help but try again. LOL. Thanks for those who responded. And Happy Mothers Day be it to skin kids for fur butts. |
Allergies As for the allergies. Yes I think the shots have helped. I was also allergic to the saliva so puppy kisses would give me hives on my lips but not any more. I have decided even if they don't work I'll take whatever meds I need to take to keep my babies. |

I really like the name Joey, there's nothing wrong with it. Our poor Yorkie ended up being Puff! We kept coming up with names and they just never fit her. Puff was the nickname we were using throughout the ordeal and it ended up sticking! |
"BITSY" short for "little bit of heaven" |
