Hi Everyone i recently adopted my bestfriend Peanut Who i already love very much,im interested in the possibility of showing him he has a pedigree and is registered with the English kennel club . I know showing takes alot of time and money i think Peanut would really Enjoy it .Im not sure about his coat i dont think its matches the breed standard he weighs 5 pound and hasnt Been castrated

well I have to idea about the show rules but his coat looks beautiful to me. welcome to yt and congrats on your new best friend peanut!

Your gorgeous Peanut is a dead ringer for my Max as for showing him im not sure i dont know alot about showing yorkshire terriers but he is such a Cutie x sorry Lara.

He's a real cutie! Not sure if he is show quality or not, but maybe someone else will know. You cold have him evaluated by a Show Breeder, perhaps.

I agree with Ann. For showing in conformation classes, have your best pal, Peanut, evaluated by a Show Breeder or Judge. You could certainly train and show Peanut in other classes such as obedience or agility. There are probably more classes open to registered dogs other than the ones mentioned above.

Working together as a team, training for obedience and/or agility will certainly help cement your relationship. Good luck and please keep us posted.

Obedience and agility shows are a lot more challenging as far as training goes but they are a lot of fun if you like that kind of thing. Conformation showing is more about body type, coat, bone structure, temperament and how they carry themselves in the show ring. There are some pretty exacting standards and most of the judges can spot just what line a particular contestant comes from. If your dog is not from show quality stock then it would really not make much sense to go through all the preparation it takes to get a dog ready for the ring.

If you are really interested in showing then finding someone to help you learn the ropes is very important. You can't just get a purebred, step into the ring and expect to do well.
