Yorkie in animal shelter
 
I was looking through the Charlotte NC craigslist lost and found posts and there is a yorkie listed today as being in an animal shelter...ad says..


Male Yorkie Found
Male Yorkie in animal shelter by airport in Charlotte NC. He was found on may 2nd I believe someone must be missing him and there is an image. Please pass this around so if someone has lost him they can be reunited. I have 3 dogs already or I would go get him.

I can't find the male that you reference but I did see this female which they estimate is 4 yrs old. The site says this dog is being held in the lost and found category and not (yet) available for adoption. I have left an inquiry and will find out more.

Apparently the little male is no longer there. This shelter will euthanize unfortunately but they hold for 72 hours for owner to claim. If not claimed, they become property of the shelter at which time it is determined if they are adoptable. Poor health or aggression are factors in that decision. So if he is not listed there today (and I could not find him on their website) maybe he has been returned to owner or adopted out. My heart just thinks they would not put this little dog down without an effort to rehome. The little girl I referred to earlier was confirmed as a RTO (return to owner) so at least that one we know has turned out well.

My original post with the info on the female yorkie has not yet shown up, maybe due to embedded link, but again, based on my conversation with the county official, she was returned to owner.
