Pet Insurance We are looking for Pet Insurance for our Piccolo. There are so many choices. Looking for recommendations. |
We went with Embrace pet Insurance. They have a wellness package that I purchased for annual vet costs and it allows a little extra money in claims so you essentially save a few bucks...that offset my insurance premium part. However, Embrace has lower annual limits than some. I personally structured mine as being $1,000 deductible, $5,000 annual max, and 80% payment. That means that I would need to incur $6250 in veterinary bills to max it out for the year. Others might want more flexibility but that comes at a higher cost monthly which I did not want. I also sent all my records in for an underwriting so I would know what prexisting conditions would be omitted from coverage and I had my vet do the "orthopedic report card" so I could waive the 6-month waiting period for orthopedics. Good luck! |
I have Healthy Paws for my 3 kiddos. |
I went with Healthy Paws for Ricky. I have the 80% coverage with a $250 annual deductible. It doesn't cover wellness visits or the exam fee, which would have been nice...but I look that as general pet maintenance that I can afford. What I can't afford is thousands of dollars worth of injuries or illness. |
I have PetPlan insurance and so far have been happy with it. Susan |
Will be Healthy Paws here too, no limit, $100 annual deductible, pay 90% for $38 and change. They don't do wellness |
Wylie's Mom posted this link a while back. I bookmarked it because it was so informative about the different pet insurances available: Pet Insurance 2014 - Reviewed and Ranked |
