I'm just livid! I wish I knew the name of this breeder! My cousin bought a dog . My grandmother didn't know what kind. She thinks it is a dachshund. Anyway, this breeder sold these pups at 4 weeks old!!! I'm beside my self! I asked if my cousin was bottle feeding it and she said no just giving it can dog food! I was upset and she quickly got off the phone with me! People can be so stupid! If I find out the name of that breeder ..... |
My Lily is just now four weeks old! And I'm not able to get her until June from my breeder!! |
That's just the limit!!! Those poor little babies - all the stress of being jerked so young from mommie and the littermates and the comfort of their birth home to that of a new owner, new home with strange, new scents, stresses, maybe other dogs and new everything. That's a lot of stress and change to force on a tiny infant dog - nevermind the feeding situation and hypoglycemia, etc. Poor little tykes! |
I can't believe my cousin was stupid enough to take it! :( |
Poor pup ihope it makes it. |
I'm far to lazy to want to take over the mommie dog's job - as if I could - and bottle feed a puppy and be sure it's peed/pooped properly and the constant cleaning up after it - ugh, the watching over it, keeping it warm enough, listening to it whine and whine for companionship and all of that. Plus, I'll never be able to naturally nurture and train a young puppy in general living and social skills, bite inhibition or provide the same sense of security as the mother. I'd much rather bring a 4 - 8 month old dog with enough brain development, body-waste retention-ability and some beginner self-control skills into my home and begin to work with it than a tiny, infant puppy. I've never seen the lure of bringing a very loud, young dog into the home and take over its full care 24/7!!! Ugh! Not for me. But most of all, to me, it's cruel to the young baby and robs it of so many of the things it needs to get a good, sound, early start in life the natural way. |
I'll admit Darla is young but she's a good pup, however; I'd never ever ever take a puppy at just barely a month old. That's far too young. Keep us posted on how your cousin is doing. Was your cousin mad at you for thinking the puppy is too young? |

I hope the puppy is strong enough to survive. What a sad thing... :( |
It\'s ridiculous. I feel so sorry for it. Can you imagine how it must feel? :(. Makes me want to cry. |
When I hear things like that, I get so sad. But then I remember that there are people like you in the world. You are such a wonderful mommy to your fur girls, and your new baby hit the jackpot by becoming a part of your family. Perhaps if things go wrong, your family will be willing to listen to your sound advice. They would be foolish not to. |
All I have to say is wow . . And sending lots of good thoughts that little pups way . . He is going to need every thought and pray his way |
I know about those know it all in laws all too well, lol. His wife is gonna come looking for you when she realizes she was wrong, at least I hope she will. Some people will let an animal pass away just so they don\'t have to admit they were wrong and you were right. |
