Will not eat dry food!! My Victoria will not eat dry food ... So im worried she's not eating enough... |
Have u tried giving her just a little maybe a teaspoon of wet puppy food. That helps with my Max. Some may not agree but they are so small they need nutrition good luck |
Have you tried soaking it in hot water letting it sit for a few minutes then draining it and giving it to her? Or have you tried mixing it with some wet dog food? How big are the pieces? Mine will not eat big pieces. |
There's a few things you can do, I had the same problem at first. She might not like the food, what food are you feeding? You can try giving her a different food, mine didn't like blue buffalo but she loves wellness.. and also lovetodream is right, she might not like it because of big pieces if she's small. You can also add in small amounts of banana, apple or veggies like carrot on top of the dry food to make it smell more tasty. Putting a little bit of warm water also helps because it makes the flavor come out and it smells more tasty for them. |
I had same issue, I add a little boiled chicken, mix very well ( in a baggie or with fingers) so the dry food has chicken on it. That solved it for us! Of course he's almost 2 yrs old and I still do this but thats ok! |
Oh....me too And know how frustrating this can be...I tried several different brands and most puppy is chicken unless it is a life stage ...I tried topping it with steamed carrots , green beans, freeze dried , wet dog food....finally I switched to Fromms Duck and Sweet Potatoe.......the chicken just didn't agree with her...... She loves it....i also have a treAt ball I would put treats in and she loved rolling that around THEN I switched and put her food in it.... She loves it ! And eats well now....just prefers a little entertainment during mealtime! |
Yes. I have tried the water. But not the hit water and letting it sit. However it seems that she is liking the Blue Buffalo... Just a little more than she did the Natural Balance. But i dont really know if shes eating enough |
Thanks everyone. You are great! |
