The only place I have ever boarded either of my dogs (lab mutt in the past, Huey now) is at the vet. I do have an emergency plan with a friend who has a yorkie, but I honestly don't go anywhere I can't take him now. If I were to go somewhere I couldn't take him, I would certainly go with the vet. I worry so much when I read stories of dogs being left with people who let them get loose or hurt. I think the vet is the best choice. I'm so particular that when my hubby is out of town and Huey is alone at home while I'm at work, I set up a nanny cam to watch him! Will your vet let you set up a Web Cam? |

When I boarded Sophie at the vet the girls are great. With today's i phones they send me pic's of my little girl outside. I pay for the extra walks also. When it was -40 here this winter they would not walk her so instead they let her run free in the back and help the staff doing chores. :D P.S. Being solo cute I also know they do get extra attention. I just know she is safe there! |

I know when I board SophieKate she does get the extra walks and she gets a lot of attention. In our case it might be because we board there a lot (when I travel for business which is at least once a month) but SophieKate gets so excited when we pull into the parking lot. I think you made a good choice and if you have an uneasy feeling while gone call them and ask how Ian is doing. |
I went to WoofStock too!! What fun that was. I saw lots of Yorkies. I didn't even thing to ask if they were on YT - although I always recommend the site. I got lucky on parking. I showed up around 12:30 and parked behind the Pizza place on Buford Hwy! Prince's Mom, you sound like you live near me. I live in Duluth off P'tree Industrial. My vet is Heart of Suwanee - Dr. Jackson. Though I have never boarded my dogs, I would not hesitate to leave them there with them. They are a great bunch. |

The world is absolutely too small. I didn't hit Woofstock but I shop at Sugar Mills (Discover Mills) often. LOL |
Okay we need to have an Atlanta area Meet Up. |
So your vet has the place staffed at night time, too? |

My vet has someone come in at night to check on the pets. Unfortunately no one is there all night. I'm in for a yorkie meetup. We have a wonderful dog park, Chattapoochie Park off of Rodgers Bridge/Peachtree Industrial. They have small and large dog fenced in areas. They also have fountains for when it gets hot for the dogs to play in. Its a nice area. |

Maybe we should take this to there regional area and not ruin this question. I will start a thread over there. |
