Dog Registry of America Can anyone tell me about the Dog Registry of America, Inc. ? Are they legitimate? Would I be lying if I sold a puppy and they had papers? I know they used to be associated with the U.S. Kennel club. |
It does not sound like a reputable registry. In the US the only reputable registry is the AKC so only AKC registered dogs that follow the standard and have had health and genetic testing done should be bred. |
I will be contacting the akc registries next week! |
Still looking for more replies. I did look them up, but I'd like to know if anyone has dealt with them. |
I'm no breeder nor am I into dog showing, but in the dog fancy in this country, only the A.K.C. is recognized as the only official record-keeper of reputable breeders' dogs - not that all breeders who use A.K.C. are reputable, but that is the only organization well-respected, well-known breeders who breed to better their breed and to produce show-quality dogs have solely used since that registry began. |
They will register any dog . . . Mix breeds. I would not get a dog that has those papers. If you want a yorkie I would only get an AKC pup. Or else go to rescue. You can check out the YTCA website for reputable breeders in your area. I am In NY. You have a nice group of breeders in NJ |
Thanks so much!:):D |
