Help with harness. Hi all. I'm having a bit of a problem. With my arthritic fingers I am having a dickens of a time getting the clasp for Gunners harness on and off. It gets harder and harder. My ole Girls harness was much bigger and easier and she didn't wear it much. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do. I have my beautiful silk harness that I use and it has the two loops to put the leash on, would it be safe to just connect the harness with the leash and not put the plastic clasp together? Getting it in is easier than getting it out. Thanks for any of your help. |

The safety of your baby is of the utmost importance - please do NOT use the harness without the plastic clasp. I am working on something new that may help. It will be about two weeks before it will be ready - I will make the first one for your little one. |
I agree. Please make sure you use the clip. You do not want Gunner to slip out. I know they are little Houdinis when they are not secured correctly. Please wait. Chattiesmom makes great harnesses. And if anyone could come up with something it is her ! |

I have to add, even doing belt like harnesses is difficult. |
I've never used one, so I can't say how secure they are, but this looks like it would be the easiest thing for you Hip Doggie Fleur De Lis Step-In Harness and Leash | Harnesses | PetSmart Or you could get a velco harness vest that a lot of YTers make. |

The D ring goes through the slot on the back, and it's all secured with Velcro - Ultra Easy ChokeFree & PawRider Pet Seatbelt Adapter (USA) Good luck! Sally x |
I know exactly how you feel, I have arthritis in my hands. The type Harness' I use (see link) are easier than most. Putting them on is quite easy, and the disconnect is the problem. I'd rather have it that way, at least they're installed properly, rather than missing getting a buckle securely snapped. http://www.petsmart.com/supplies-training/harnesses/grreat-choice-dog-harness-zid36-8827/cat-36-catid-100082?_t=pfm%3Dsearch Fitting/adjustment Tip: Snug with the body/chest strap, relaxed with the shoulder straps. |

I don't have have one so can't vouch for it either, but Susan Lanci has some beautiful ultra suede step-in harnesses. A bit pricey, but they sure look cute on the little ones! I'd like to invest in one for Sophie myself. HUGE Inventory Susan Lanci Step-In Harness |

I also use the Choke-Free harness. I, too, have arthritic fingers that keep getting worse. The Choke-Free is so easy to use and puts no pressure on my sore joints. It uses velcro and I think it is just as easy to take off as it is to put it on. It is also a very safe and comfortable harness. I really like it because it puts no pressure whatsoever anywhere near the neck. I'm also anxious to see Chattiesmom's newest harness that she mentioned in this thread. |

FoxyPups - Yorkie Yummies - Yorkie treats Maybe that clasp is a defect.... I had a Walmart harness that was impossible to get open and off! I can't believe they are all that difficult! |
