guess who is finally learning to sit???? 1 Attachment(s) AnnaBoo!!!! I am so proud of her. It has taken nearly a year to get her past her food issues. But she now sits about 60% of the time. I had to put her between me and a wall so that when she backed up, she eventually hit the wall and her bottom went down. Now, she sits anywhere, no wall involved!!! I cannot tell you how proud I am of her. When we started, she would bite my hand off trying to get the treat. Poor Barney will sit the entire time I work with Anna waiting patiently for his treat. The photo was actually taken when she was in the "not so obedient" stage of training. But I have to show off how cute she is. |
That picture is hilarious! There's definitely a touch of the "stink eye" look going on. |
Good girl Anna! Congratulations on reaching another goal and learning to sit. You are adorable in you photo. I recognize the look you are giving your mom. Teddy took almost a year to learn how to shake hands. He would look at me like I was crazy for wanting him to do something so silly. :D |
She is giving you the look like I am almost but not putting my bum down ! She is a cutie. Yea she got sit down ;) |
Yay, way to go Anna!! She looks very cute in her sweet pink top and bow. |
Thanks so much! There's not many people outside of YT that understand what a proud moment it is. She's made so much progress since we got her in May. She's learned to potty outside, play with toys and to cuddle. But the sit command has been so difficult for her. Her legs are so short that she gets away with the almost sit position much easier than Barney can. |
WTG AnnaBoo! WooHoo! |
Awwww way to go annaboo :-) I rescued Gizmo from someone who almost killed him by starving him to make him a micro by stunting his growth. He also has major food issues. When I first started training with him and treats, he would see that treat and would go still as a statue :-( I could not get him to do anything because he was so focused on the treat and I think he thought if he did anything wrong he wouldn't get it :-( it was a very very slow process of assuring him he would get a treat no matter what and little by little he started doing small things and moving :-) he now sits, high fives with left and right paws, and he does know the difference :-) he also plays fetch well and we're working on laying down and doing circles :-) the only problem I can't seem to break is him hiding his larger chews, like his pumpkin sweet potato teething rings. He will hoard things around the house and hide them. I think he does it in case I don't feed him, which of course he is spoiled, but I think still has a fear of starving :-( |
Oh and he is 10 months old today, I rescued him at 9 weeks old as he was in a hypoglycemic coma from being starved :-( |
Awww, lucky Gizmo. It sounds like he's living a great life now. Anna was 6 when we got her. We don't know a whole lot about her past. We know she was used as a breeder and the rescue is pretty certain that the first 6 years of her life were in a cage. We are going to make her official birthday the day we picked her up. So she is nearly 7 now. It's so nice to be able to work on training without fear of having my hand bitten. But she is proof that you can teach an old dog new tricks.....for that matter, I am proof of that too:). |
What a terrific mom you are to have so much patience to teach that poor girl that life is so good! Hooray for her! |
Aw, congratulations to little Annaboo and to you! So much patience and diligence you've had to maintain while loving that little one--it must feel great to see successes as she continues to learn with you. And that picture is adorable--my little girl pup (who is sooo not trained at almost nine months) literally gives me side-eye when she doesn't like what I'm telling her to do. Congrats again!:) |
