I found an add a few days ago on craigslist for a 10month old yorkie male who needed adopting. He didnt look care for so I emailed the lady a few times she wrote back then said he was adopted a few days ago ....She then REPOSTED him tonight...She lied to me saying he was adopted!!

Maybe the deal fell through and you should call her back. Why would she lie about it? I've never heard of craiglist, is it a rescue or petfinder?

This is the link to the craigslist add...I spoke with her through email a few times asked about his health advised her I knew about yorkies and would love to add another to our family. She took forever to respond to my emails and then a few days later which was probably Monday or tuesday told me he was adopted but then I see she posted him AGAIN tonight about 30min ago. I am very confused as to why she told me he was adopted.
He looked to be living in their garage is a small crate and didnt look well taken care of. I am so confused! :mad:

Try calling her back, maybe the deal fell through. Hopefully it isn't a scam.

I have a feeling it is a scam...It took her over 24hrs to respond to my emails and the emails are very short and to the point. No questions asked of me about how I will care for the puppy or anything.

Were they giving him away or selling him? That just doesn't make sense.

I would call again and ask whats going on... Maybe just maybe they got rid of it then the people decided not to keep it...........I dont know but please keep us updated.

craigslist is a massive online classifieds/bulletin board. imagine the corkboard at your local laundermat except online. it's got everything from jobs, rentals, for sale items, personals, and pets is just one of them.

there's a lotta pet scams on craigslist so just be careful!

Don't you think that if it were a scam -- she would have followed up with you and have taken your money?

Sounds to me like the adoption fell through.

I would definitely try and get back in touch with her one more time. If she does give you the run around again -- just drop it and move on.....don't waste anymore of your time with her. There are a lot of little Yorkies out there that would love living with you.

I got an email from her this morning she said he has some issues with running in circles when nervous and he is very timid...I feel so bad for this puppy
She said he is not AKC registered and he is about 10lbs. What do you guys think?

:D I think you better scoop him up before I do. Poor baby. He needs love and to stop being bounced around. I'm guessing when he feels comfortable he'll stop being nervous and stuff. He's probably just scared he's going to be given away again or something. ;)

He sounds like he needs a loving home for sure! I would go see him and let your heart decide. :)

I don't know how much of Gage's story I've shared on here other than mention he is a "rescue" (you'll see why the " in a sec). An acquaintance had been given Gage right after Christmas of '04 - he was the last in the litter and the breeder had no buyers for him so she gave him to this guy I know. When he mentioned to Sam and I he had a yorkie but wasn't sure if he could keep him, I told him if he ever decided to let him go, call me as I wanted him. In April, I got the call - if you want him, come get him is pretty much what he said. I told him of course I wanted him and I'd be over to get him. When I pulled up to get him, he was chained in the front yard!!! That got my blood boiling! All his son did was unchain him and give him to me, no words exchanged except for "bye". Poor Gage shook the entire ride home! It took us about 6 months of working with Gage, holding him, showering him with kisses, and just spending time in general with him to get him to calm down and get used to us! He did not bark the first 4 months we had him - it was like he was afraid to for fear of being yelled at or kicked across the room! Now - he won't STOP barking...LOL!! I have no clue what Gage went through before I got him but it had to be pretty severe for him to be in the shape he was in when I got him and the length of time to acclimate him to his new home. I use the term "rescue" even though I did not get him from a shelter or rescue group - but I did rescue him from a place that did not show him any love, affection, or attention!!

So, with that said (sorry to be sooo lengthy!) - he probably needs a good, loving home to settle down in to cure his "issues". Gage shook quite a bit (and still does when something scares him) when we first got him but he has calmed down tremendously. He is my first ever rescue and I highly recommend it! All those babies need and want is love:) You'll make a GREAT mom for him!!!

Craig's list staff removed the ad, so I hope it's not a scam.

Ok, I've called the woman. Poor baby has been in about 4 or 5 homes. He was from a 'mistake' litter from a pair of yorkies belonging to an older couple. He was then taken from there and given to a woman who was recently divorced as a companion. Appears that she just didn't have time, or whatnot. He then went to the current owners mom who just couldn't do it. He then went to the current owner who gave him away on Monday to a couple who returned him yesterday because their other yorkie(s) didn't accept him. He is current on all his shots. He has a nervousness issue that makes his head bobble when he's excited/nervous. He's been to 3 vets for this who can not find anything wrong with him and say it's a quirk. The owner says if you spend time with him and once he calms down this goes away. I asked if he had any neurological issues and she said the vets said no. He's a bit of a barker and is comfortable in his crate at night.

Has anyone had any experiences with the head bobble thing?

I have heard of it, and it seems that some rescues get that. I watched the Dog Whisperer and he said a dog that constantly spinned, needed more attention and to be walked. It seemed to work. ???

Does it go away? Is it something that's a constant vet bill?

The Dog Whisperer had said that it wasn't that uncommon in rescues to have some kind of abnormal behavior like that. He showed how walking the dog and spending time training and playing with the dog, made the dog feel needed and special. It was no neurological problem.

Thanks, I was just looking up the dog whisperer. Season premier is tonight 8pm ET. I'm so tempted, but it's so much to take on. I'm just a marshmellow though.

I spoke to the owner today after tossing and turning all night with wanting to go get him and knowing I really should wait. She has a lady coming to look at him who has dog training and experience with rescue dogs. The current owner has also been able to be home with him the last few days and give him some much needed attention. She says his nervousness is much better because of it. She assured me he is safe and that she'll not let him go to just anybody. I told her to give me a call if the behavior lady didn't work out.

Sorry to hear that..Thats really messed up!! Cant you report her to someone..Thats crazy b/c if they are looking for the best interest for the dog they should denie him or her like that..WOW that really sucks!!! :thumbdown
