Help crying yorkie Hello im new to this and it has been a while since i have had a puppy. I need help. This is the second night for us having our new addition and she cries when she is left alone even if it's just for a little while. I can understand why. I just would like to know what i can do to make it easier for her. |
How old is your puppy? |
She is 9 weeks old |
It's normal she needs to get used to being away from mom and siblings. Give it another day or two. This is why some breeders leave yorkies with mom till 12 weeks they still need there mom. Congratulations on your new addition. |
Thank you and yes i hope she feels more comfortable soon |
Hi welcome to Yorkietalk, Congrats on getting your new puppy. You can try putting a stuffed animal/dog toy with her in the crate so she doesn't feel too alone. |
Thank you, and thank you for the advice. Im going to try that and i hope it works! I do not want her feeling lonely. |
I would let her cry that way she gets used to her crate. If you rescue her every time she whines it will take her longer. My girl had one puppy 6 weeks ago and when she leaves the baby alone for some mommy time, the baby would cry now the little girl is use to being alone for short times and dosent cry. I make sure she has food and water all the time because yorkies are so small and could get low blood sugar and dehydrate vary quickly. It took her 3 days to get used to being alone. |
How about one of your shirts to curl up in. And maybe a radio left on If all else fail bring the crate in your room so when she is really sad she can here your voice. Good luck and welcome to yt |
Thank you for the advice! Im going to try all those things out and hope it makes her feel more comfortable! |
New puppies, I covered their crate with a then throw or blanket, sense of security... Just at night and when I have go off... Has worked wonders, |
