Default Looking for Care Bear!!!


I bought my little guys the PETsMART Care Bear (the mini plush toy) and never expected one of mine to get SO attached!!! He takes it everywhere and sleeps with it... but its almost losing some legs now... and arms. PETsMART no longer carries them Does anyone have any of the bears and is willing to part ways with one or two!!! I will reimburse for your loss! I am desperate because I don't want my little guy to lose his new friend! Thanks so much in advance!!!

This has been posted in the looking for items thread as well - just hoping more people see it here!!! This momma is desperate!!!

Sorry I don't have any but you have you tried eBay or amazon or even just search on Google. My Bear got really attached to an elmer fudd toy when he was young and the pet store stopped carrying them. I finally found them online and ended up buying like a dozen of them so he wouldn't run out lol.

Just looked on Ebay..there are tons to choose from. I even saw the one posted above. Good luck.

The ones I have found on eBay and amazon are not the dog toys. They are they children's toys - I am hesitant to give mine the human toys unsure of the filling inside. Thanks for the suggestions! The ones that I am looking for are the luv-a-pet mini plush. A lot look the the same, but aren't them!! I keep checking the sites daily hoping....

I would think some of the filling would have to be better because the manufacturing standards for childrens toys are higher than dog toys...but that said I never buy the toys that have the little beads in the feet as I am always worrying that a seam will tear and Buster will be swallowing those beads.

If anyone even finds them at their local PETsMART - I will be thrilled!!! Thanks for being on the lookout! The PETsMART ones were a perfect size for my little one - he rarely finds a toy he likes!!! And he is so attached to this one!! I only wish I'd bought everyone they had!!! Please keep sending the suggestions! Hopefully we find my Max a replacement!!

Did you ask an employee and look in all the clearance bins?
I'm surprised they don't have some around, unless they packed them up and sent them somewhere.

Did you check out Petsmart's online store? I don't see Care Bears online there, but they have something that looks similar:

Checking around, it looks like the luv-a-pet mini plush Care Bear was a limited time Valentines Day 2014 promotion :(. Very frustrating! If you can't find one, I hope you can find a good substitute!

It was a limited edition toy- that's why I am so mad at myself! Had no idea he would like it! I kinda got it more because I used to have care bear toys when I was little and figured my little guys should too! :) should've guessed they'd like them as much too!!! I have asked and searched all local stores...I keep looking at eBay too. Was just hoping that someone may have bought one (or 2!) and their little fur babies weren't as crazy about it!!! Fingers crossed! This momma isn't giving up yet! Thanks everyone!!!

Petco has a toy you could try, they have various striped animals with a similar body shape and they have a nice big squeaker in the belly.
They're 2/$5.

Lola has a few and she loves them.

For what it's worth, I called my local Petsmart and asked them about the Care Bears, and they remembered them. They went to check to see if they had any left, and they were all sold out :(. Maybe a Petsmart in some other town will have a few left.

There not care bears but petedge.com has some cute bear toys maybe you could substitute. Search for zanies Berber bears. They are 8 1/2 inches. Or if you want smaller, there is a bear under zanies kutie pies (spelled that way). Its 4 3/4 inches or zanies itty bitties 3 1/2 inches.

Thanks so much for all the ideas and suggestions! I truly appreciate it!!!! Joel is precious!!! And so is his bear :) I wouldn't be able to tak it from him either! Isn't it funny how much they like it- I would have never guessed! Obviously!!!!

My mom's dog has a toy that she loves to pieces. Literally. My mom tried buying exact replacements, but her pup just wouldn't take it! She wanted the original. Because of this I have sewed dozens of Walle's toys back together, because I'm afraid he'd have the same reaction with a "replacement" toy.

We had a bichon who had a teddy bear that he carried around. After about ten yrs the legs began to fall off. So we found one that looked like the old one and removed the stuffing from the new one and replaced it with the stuffing from the old one. He loved it because it still smelled the same to him. Just make sure you don't wash it beforehand.

If hope someone can find you a new one but even if, hang on to the old one just in case you need to change stuffing.

Can I tell you how wonderful you all are?!? The overwhelming response of suggestions and ideas has been wonderful! The most exciting news- we found Care Bears!!!! Max is sending kisses and love to those that helped! It means so much to me to see how many people tried to find Max a new toy friend. His brother, Jax will play with anything- not my Max- this care bear is his most favorite toy in the four and a half years I have been lucky enough to call him mine. You all made this easy! And now I have reinforcements when his original care bear needs to retire. This is an amazing community- thank y'all! My little monsters really appreciate knowing there are people who care about their happiness as much as me!!!
