Top knot pillows?
 
Are top knot pillows helpful in getting your babies to stay still for their top knot? I can't get Chloe to stay still for her top knot.. and if I do, I can't make a perfect, neat top knot because I try to do it fast before she runs away, lol.

If the pillow helps, where can I buy good ones?

Not a clue what a topknot pillow is or where'd you purchase such a thing. How are you going the topknot? I use a band and clip the bow on afterward

It's a pillow that looks kind of like those pillows we use for the airplane to support our neck. I can do the top knot if she's sleeping.. but I think it's a better idea to train her to be comfortable with getting her hair tied for a few minutes and not zoom away like a rocket. I also use a band but I think the bands I have are too big so they come off easily. Where do you buy your bands?

Oh there is a lady on here who has silk/satin topknot pillows and show jackets...she actually sells grooming supplies (pin brushes an espree...) and is now highlighting projects from a show team oversees...let me find her name...

I sit on the couch next to the arm rest with Lola laying on my leg and against the arm rest, facing away from me. I put a folded towel under her head, like a top knot pillow. It does help.

I also use the towel to cover the table when I brush her, so it's convenient to keep with the grooming stuff.

When she was younger I used to give her dog cookies to eat while I put her hair up, I slowly cut back on the cookies and now she only gets a treat when I'm done. She was about 8-9 months when I stopped giving her the cookies.

Oh, I lovee her website! I ordered a madan brush from her and the show style shampoo. Jenny is great. I saw the top knot pillows and it says only chocolate is available for now :( I really like the flower one more

My lilah sits pretty nicely now (just over a year) but I feel like at the least the pillow could represent a training cue in addition to being more comfortable. The satin/silk helps prevent tangles and in long grooming sessions it seems like a great idea, I would love one. Lilah is my first yorkie and I adore her. I have had her since she was twelve weeks old and I had show aspirations but am realizing that I have so much to learn! Grooming is a big part of that for me. Good luck!

Hee hee hee- yes! I haven't poured for a while...I wanted the silk show jacket with red polka dots and a matching crystal embellished bow. One day :)

Jenny is great:thumbup:

You really need to start teaching grooming manners. She needs to learn tigers a place to groom and it's not on your lap. Use a table. Any table, coffee table, top of washer, counter. But you need to pick a place and always groom there. Offer tiny treats while grooming and make it worth it.
