Need help on dog food. My baby girl is having problems with her dog food. I had her on a food that my vet sold and it upset her stomach so I put her on blue buffalo. That made her chew on her paws so I changed it to orijen. My baby is trained to a potty pad. I live in a two story home and when she goes upstairs to potty it smells so bad I can smell it all the way downstairs. PLEASE HELP!!!:aimeeyork |
Oh gosh I have no recommendations but someone prob does....bump |
We use royal canin Yorkshire terrier when we feed kibble. |
Sounds like food allergies to me. Bella is allergic to chicken, potato & sweet potato. You can tell when she has had any as she is stinky, oily, itchy & big time anal gland issues. I will admit it is VERY hard to find food that doesn't have these in it. We figured out the chicken which is the main culprit but a clerk in a small pet food store said that they had a pup with the same issues and it only stopped when they eliminated the potato & sweet and plain. |
My daughters rehomed yorkie came to her on a lamb and rice kibble (not good quality). She could not stand the "garlicky" smell of her urine. We took a few weeks to switch her to the Earthborn Holistics mine are on (Coastal Catch- fish only protein) She smells much better, and no longer has that "greasy" look! |
Mike was scratching and itching like crazy, he would chew his paws all the time, I starting doing some research and found out about all these allergies, so I started with a change of food. He is now eating a combination of Blue Buffalo Grain Free Dry Food and Wet Food and he is doing great with those, no more scratching and the paws chewing stopped completely, also almost no smell when he releases. We also changed his treats to a Grain Free product. I think he was allergic to grains. |
stinky poo Thankyou very much, Emma did have a big problem with the foods with grain in them and after doing the research because she was chewing on her paws I found that foods with grain can make them chew their paws. I am just so confused on what to do about finding the right food. It seems like everyone says different things. I thought putting her on orijen would be good, it is one of the most expensive out there. I will certainly give yours some thought. Thankyou very much. Dana |
