Fleas, ticks and heartworm meds? My yorkie and chi will be old enough to do the pill form of flea, tick and heartworm protection in the upcoming warm months. They both weigh 8 lbs. I was only able to give them Advantage last summer for fleas. Here in Missouri we get fleas, ticks and mosquitos BAD. So I definetely want to get them on something that prevents all of those nasty things. :) But I don't know what brand prevents them all. If anyone can let me know what brand(s) will help control these, I would greatly appreciate it. :) |
It really depends on what ticks are in your area. Revolution covers heartworm, fleas, and the american dog tick but it does not cover other ticks like the tick that causes lyme disease. Here in New England we have several types of ticks. We have used Heartgard for heartworm and intestinal parasites and also use Frontline Plus topical treatment for fleas and ticks. I've heard some say that in the south frontline has not worked as well for them so they use something else like Advantix II. |
I would do Advantix II for fleas, ticks and masqutoes and then heart guard for heart worm that's what I do. |
