| theporkieyorkie | 03-29-2014 06:47 PM | I was guessing a lot of it was staged...just like everything is on TV, down to the people picking up the puppy. They've always got a family with little kids coming to pick the dogs up. They all seem to go at 10 weeks. The star of the show usually seems to stay with mom or 2 siblings that are close are placed together. If the dogs a water dog, they always pull the kiddie pool out...or if it's a herder, it's herding something...Heck, they even had the wiener dog pups wearing the hot dog suits and practicing for the races. This is definitely not the show to watch to get an accurate depiction of what pet/puppy ownership is. It's just shows you how cute puppies are.
Since it is, in a way, promoting breeding, it is too bad that they aren't using the show more as a platform to educate people on what to look for when searching for a responsible breeder and/or talk about what being a responsible breeder is all about. It would also be nice if they didn't sugar coat everything so much and gave more of a realistic picture of what having puppies is like. It really gives this impression that breeding is so easy breezy and it's all fluff and fun. |
