I wish Penny were here with me (she's home; I'm in the office). I'm sure she'd be blushing . . . well, knowing her, perhaps not! lol.

Sex in the City:
Penny, once again represented Yorkie-Kind in the last season of "Sex In the City." Charlotte’s Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (ironically named “Penny”) was to beat out all the other toy dogs, despite being in season in a mock Westminster they called the “Astor Classic.” Penny got the “gig” by, to use the cliché which is very apt in this case, being in the “right place at the right time.”
I had just taken her with me on a beautiful sunny June day to an agility clinic. We were there for one of my other dogs, she was just along for the ride. One of the other participants was a Standard Poodle owner who shows regularly in both conformation and performance events. She noticed that Penny was in wraps. Turns out, a friend of hers is a scout for Dawn Animal Agency. A few weeks later, we got a phone call . . . they were looking for toy show dogs and needed a Yorkie in coat. A month later, we showed up at Roseland in New York City for the two-day shoot. :cool: |
