Happy Birthday Moose turns a year old tomorrow and I am at a loss for what to get her. With my mom just getting out of the hospital and me getting a cold I haven't done any shopping. I am going to stop and get her a new "person" pillow cause I am makeing her covers for all holidays and fun prints but it's her first birthday and it needs to be fun, lil bears was. So any ideas? and any ideas for something lil bear might get just because I don't want her to feel left out? |
Are you going to have a doggie birthday cake? :D I don't really know, but mine just loved balloons! It drove everyone crazy, but it was a lot of fun! |
I think I am going to make a cake. Moose is lactose intlerant so I feel better making the cake so I know there is no milk or cheese. I was thinking the Natural Applesauce, flour, and carrots. I was going to put cinnamon in it but not sure if dogs can have it. Was going to check out my doggie cookbook tonight. |
That will be fun. Too bad you are getting a cold! I am at the tail-end of one, too! Re: cinnamon - I don't think they are supposed to have spices, but a little probably wouldn't hurt anything. You've got to give the little one something, too. I guarantee if you blow up a few balloons that they'll have fun anyway. Can't wait to hear how it goes. Have a happy birthday, Moose! :Birthday3 |
I hope Moose's birthday is great!!! Happy Birthday.... |
Happy Birfday Moose! I think you should get him lots of love and attention for his birthday! I'm sure you were already planning that though, lol. |
to envrobear I got this cake recipe online and I'm making it for my girl's first birthday, just thought you might wanna see.. Doggy Layer Cake * 3 cups flour * 1 T. baking powder * 1/2 cup margarine, softened * 6 eggs, beaten * 1/2 cup corn oil * 2 jars strained chicken baby food * 2 cups finely shredded carrots * plain or vanilla yogurt * 2 or 3 strips of bacon, fried crisp, then crumbled, or use bacon-flavored jerky strips, cut into bits. Preparation - Generously grease and flour two 8" round cake pans; set aside. Combine flour and baking powder; set aside. In a mixing bowl, beat softened margerine until smooth. Add eggs and corn oil; mix well. Add strained chiicken, and shredded carrots and mix until smooth. Add flour mixture and mix thoroughly. Pour batter into the 2 prepared 8" cake pans. Bake at 325° for 60 minutes. Let cool for a few minutes before removing from pans. Cool completely on wire racks. Place one layer on a serving plate and spread yogurt over top. Place second layer on top, then spread yogurt on top and sides of entire cake. Sprinkle crumbled bacon or bits of jerky strips over top. Use "Pupperoni" sticks instead of candles. :aimeeyork |
Thanks for the recipe gracies_mom I might have to delete the yogurt but think moose and lil bear will be licking their lips for the rest. I stopped by after work and got moose her new people pillow, so she gets to have that tonight. I just hope I'm in any shape to make the cake tonight, got home last night and had a fever of 102.2, but here I am at work. No time off to stay at home..but I digress. When I sang happy birthday to moose this morning I told her we might have to celebrate tomorrow if mommy isn't doing to well when I get home tonight. :thumbdown |
