Pimple-like bumps
 

Two nights ago I was snuggling with Ella and found two little bumps...one on her head and the other on her back. I thought they might have been scabs since she and our new puppy wrestle and play a lot. I noticed a couple more yesterday and I just found about 15 of them now. They are tiny and feel like little pimple. They aren't red...actually don't look anything different from normal skin couloir and she doesn't seem to be itchy, although she doesn't like me trying to get a close up look by separating all the hair. She was on a raw food diet until our new puppy came at Christmas and decided she wanted kibble. There have been some food changes as the puppy didn't do we'll on Now food and they both decided they liked Amicus. I'm concerned about the higher protein content in Amicus and tried Pulsar which wasn't a big hit and now I'm transitioning to Taste of the Wild. I've always fed Ella grain free and chicken free until she started on Amicus. Could these bumps be an allergy? No new shampoos or anything and until the past three days it's been so cold here (-25 - -40 degrees Celsius). Any thoughts? I do tend to panic when it comes to her but don't want to run her into the vet if we can avoid it. Oh...she was also dewormed with Drontal on Sat as there are some concerns that the new puppy hadn't been dewormed by the breeder. Any thoughts?

Fletch gets bumps. Ive taken him in for them in the past, but the vet said if I could squeeze anything out of them, then they are not anything to worry about. He has one on his back right now that I can squeeze stuff out of but unlike others in the past, its not going away. He only has 1 bump right now and has had 2 others in the past, 15 sounds like a lot though. Try to squeeze and see if any pus comes out.

Thanks for the response. She had many more this morning and I wasn't able to squeeze anything out. I took her to the vet and she's not sure what's causing it, so she's on antibiotics and an antibacterial soap...baths 2 times a day! I'm still wondering if it's food related and the vet tried her best to convince me to put her on Royal Canin, to which I politely refused. lol The good part is the hives don't seem to be bothering Ella...just her mama! :)

ooh poor baby! Im glad she's ok. I think they can test her for food allergies for you to know for sure if you wanted to. My Dex is itchy a lot and has ear infections a lot. I take him to the vet and there is nothing wrong but allergies, but they don't think it's his food at all. So I give him 2mls of liquid children's benedryl when he's super bad!

Was just going to recommend you take her in, but you already did :). Wonder what the heck is going on, how weird. I hope the meds work soon...do keep us posted on how it goes.
