I feel bad for my pup I am like most of you working full time so I only play with Zoe a couple of minutes in the morning and when I come home at night. This works out for the time being because my bf will not be working until feb-march. He is home to keep Zoe company most of the day. HOWEVER, because he gets this break he has been sleeping all day which leaves Zoe in the room with him watching him sleep. I tell him to wake up but he'll sleep till the afternoon and then play with Zoe. Should I feel bad? I mean my bf will be working very hard very soon and I want him to relax but I also want companionship for Zoe. Should I feel bad? |
Well i wouldn't feel bad, as long as there's someone in the house she won't feel like she's alone. Plus they need to learn that they have to play by themselves sometimes. If your that concerned about her being by herself when your Bf goes back to work, you should get another Yorkie to keep her company :) haha that's what I did. I felt the same way as you because I go to College and have more class some days rather than others and i did't want Ruby to get lonely, so i got Bella. Now they are best friends and I don't have to worry when i'm not here. When I come home they stop playing with eachother and want to play with me, so it works out great ;) |

i feel the same way you do... lexi is home all day alone and when i get home i have to make sure i play with her.its so hard cause im so tired. i feel so bad for her sometimes...it just kills me... on the weekends i stay with her all day. i cried when i first got her cause i felt i shouldnt have gotten her because of that, but they do get used to it... i leave her with plenty of toys, treats |
do you leave them in their cage? or in like a play pen? |

lexi is nine months now and has the run of the house and she just does great. 2 wee pads down and she goes on them... when she was little and i went to work, no crate for that many hours.. i kept her in the hallway about 15 flt long with a wee pad and toys and water and food and kong... up until a few ago, she was in the hall way...then i made her own room aside the hallway, and now she is so good, she gets the whole house... |
You guys are so helpful! I do not leave him in a crate. He has free run of my room. He's completely potty trained. My room is small so its not a huge area to run around. He's really good about it. I left him alone for 5 hours and not one thing was out of place. I just feel bad. I really thought I shouldn't be a dog owner due to the time I'm home but I know it will get better as he gets older. I'm waiting until he's 6-7 months before I let him have the run of the house. Even then, I would need to block certain parts off. |
