Here's my new Yorkie (I hope). This is Phoenix we got her Friday and since she's been in our home, she's transiioned to 1 lb, 5 oz bundle of fur, screeching, and diarrhea. We're in love with her but the diarrhea has to stop. Would plain yogurt help? I'm also concerned about her coat. She's 8 weeks and has a thick full coat everywhere but her head and back. Her "beard" is very sparse with black hairs mixed in . She's AKC registered but I'm worried that she may be mixed with another breed (chihuahua perhaps). What do you think? How can I thicken her o=coatl |
This baby needs to see a vet. Her diarrhea could easily be coccidia, brought on by stress.....stress from new people, new environment, leaving mommy too soon, etc. She can quickly become dehydrated and become seriously ill, even die....please get her to her vet for treatment ASAP.....I am guessing it has been almost 48 hours with the diarrhea? |
Hello and welcome to YT. Please bring her to a vet as so as possible . And do not give her yogurt. It may make it worse |
All new puppies should go to the vet within 48 hours of getting them, has she been to the vet yet? Most reputable breeders know a puppy should not go home until at least 12 weeks and sense your breeder didn't know that they might not be reputable which means she could be full yorkie just poorly bred and she could be sick if she has diarriah so she needs to go to the vet to make sure she doesn't have parvo, worms or something else. |
I vote with the others. Please get her to a vet ASAP. She's a beautiful little pup but taken from mom too soon. |
welcome to YT, that is one lil cutie you have.... diarrhea in puppies can be a serious issue, can lead to dehydration if left untreated. Please, please get that puppy to a vet sooner then ASAP. Dehydration can lead to DEATH. Take care of the diarrhea, worry about fur texture after she has recovered... Wait longer, you may not have a puppy to worry over fur . That pup needs medical attention NOW, Please keep us updated. |
