I have both and use both but I usually end up with the Buddy Belt. Like mentioned the velcro can be a problem with Sophie Kate's hair also the sound velcro make is like nail on a chalkboard to me. Both are good quality. |
We like the choke free. One of my dogs has a mild Collapsing trachea and is a puller and maniac on a leash. It doesn't touch the trachea. I wish it was adjustable, and I've thought about the BB for that. I just don't really like the look as much. |
chattiesmom silk harness I love chatiesmom silk harnesses. They are adjustable, soft but sturdy and you can rapidly pick up your pup in case of emergency. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/member.php?u=194 |
Gwen I was looking I compared both harnesses too. I decided on the BB because it had a buckle, it was leather, the armholes are round and I can pick up Galen in it if I had to. He can not escape out of it. And I can get matching leashes. One of the reasons I did not like the choke free is that it has Velcro. It is easy to get his hair caught in it. |
I prefer the look of the Buddy Belt. I also like that it has holes like a belt and not velcro. It is adjustable for over clothes and if your pup's weight fluctuates. |
I bought a BB because Lola was still growing a bit, it'll fit over clothes, no velcro for her hair to get stuck in, and it looks more comfortable to me. I want the metallic purple choke free harness but the velcro is stopping me. |

1 Attachment(s) Huey has the choke free and although if I'm not careful, his hair can get caught in the velcro, it hasn't been a problem, I like the velcro because getting him into/out of a harness requires speed and that is why I can't use a buckle. (He doesn't sit still well at all...) |
I have several bb and love them :-) my final decisions were made due to adjustability and the round shape of the leg holes. They looked more comfortable, and they are super easy to get on Gizmo when he's standing, I just slide them right up and buckle :-) |
well... I LOVE the choke free harness. I like the quality ( the lined harness are excellent) the way they look and the ease of putting on and off. I like the way they ride on the chest not the throat at all. It is impossible for a dog to get out of one if it is the right fit. Remember, I do sell the Choke*free. I started because I like them so much!! My opinion may be just a little onesided lol |
We have the CF and love it. Easy to get on and very soft. I ordered it from Lil Sis. |

I'm a massive buddy belt fan |
I LOVE choke free velcro harness! Milana pulls very strongly on her leash and using any other harness she would severely cough. The velcro harness was a savior for us! I tried so many different harness and spent so much money until I found the right one. I am choke free supporter all the way!!! I only have velcro one and I have not tried leather - not sure if she would cough using leather one. By the way, if anyone looking for a very lightly used buddy belt in size 3 (hot pink color), let me know as I am selling one through Amazon. Again, this one did not work as she would start coughing when she pulled so strongly. |
