Need Advise..Walks around crying with a t shirt in her mouth 1 Attachment(s) Ok, not sure what is going on??? Bailee has this little Pink t shirt that I bought but didn't seem to like having it on so I put it away. Last week she found it and has been carrying it around in her mouth and whimpering. It sounds so sad. When you try to approach her, she runs away and continues to whimper. Is this a behavior anyone has experienced??? I even tried putting it back on her, and she still does not like it. Should I just take it away and not let her have it? Help!!!! |
My sister's Silky would carry around a squeaky dragon toy she seemed to think was her baby shortly after her heat cycles, whining at times and curling up with it to sleep during naps and nighttime and trying to prevent others from touching or getting it. After a few weeks, she was back shaking and growling and tossing it up in the air and catching it and biting, treating it like a toy again. My sister thought her behavior was always related to her hormones and mommy-role she sometimes took on for a while and just let her be. |
My Jaxon does that with a nylabone or some treats, we think he is wanting us to put it in a safe place for him. We will take it away & put it up & then he is fine, but he wanders around whimpering with it until we do. |

I don't know about the tshirt, but all I can say is that Bailee is just tooooo darn cute for words. I wanna see lots more pictures of her:D |
I'm stumped... you win the weird dog award! |
Mine associate their clothes with getting to go places as that is generally when we put them on them. Do you dress her when you go out? |
Mine does not bark to communicate, he whines and cries. It's so embarrassing. Sometimes I'm afraid someone will call animal control on me because it sounds like he's being hurt. Anyway, he does whine and cry when he has a toy as his way of telling me to chase him and play with him. |
3 Attachment(s) Ha! Well, I have taken the t shirt away. We'll see. She has a "baby" that she sleeps with in her crate, and every morning when I get up with her after she does her pee/poop, she runs back into the crate and takes baby out and bring her in the family room. |

Oh my! She is too darn cute! |
Oh my, you are killing me with cuteness overload, lol, more please :D:D:D |
She is just adorable. I am wondering if she just realizes that if she has the t-shirt and whimpers you pay more attention. Just a thought. |
First I must say she is absolutely adorable......her being only 19 weeks old I have to rule out maternal instincts. If a female is NOY SPAYED and NOT BREED when they come in season SOME females will take a toy, blanket etc. and walk around, protect it, treating it like it was her baby. Also some females come into season at 6 or 7 months, she is almost 5 months old? I will go along with the poster she does this for extra attention from you. You took it away, good, see if she will do this with something else, like a toy, or the bedding in her crate. If Bailee was my baby I would have her in a carrier and carry her with me, kissing and loving her up all day, she is just toooo cute. Please update us on her behavior, I think Bailee will become YT favorite lil cutie pie. |
maybe she is teething and clamps down on the fabric? |
