LIME for yard odor- dangerous for dogs? So we are having sewage problems at our house. the land lord is on it, but he i getting ready to put some Lime out on the ground to kill the odor. I want to know if this is dangerous for my dogs or what precautions I need to take. I already am begin very careful about even letting them out because of the sewage. When I have to let them out, no other choice. I watch to make sure they dont lick anything, only let the stay out as long as needed to do their duty and then wash their feet the second they come in. |
No, Lime (per se) is not going to kill your animal, but... it can be irritating if left on their feet, or get into their mouths/eyes. You might just temporarily fence off the/an area and treat it, then move over where do their business. Good for you in keeping them rinsed, that's probably the only real thing you can do to help. |
Thanks. Im just going to have to put down potty pads for them in the house. the landlord spread the lime all over the entire area where the dogs can go. there is no where else out there. Ill wait until it soaks into the ground, and then let them out. but right now its dry and powdery. |
