What will the pups look like? Anyone have pics of pups and adults that have biewer dad and traditional mom? ThanKs

Those two should not have been bred together

If the traditional Yorkie is not a white gene carrier, the babies will look like traditional colored Yortkies, with a little larger white splsh of white on the chest, maybe some across the toes, which may barely be seen as the baby ages, and a patch of white on the chin.

Will it cause illness or genetic defect or something? Please explain. You make it sound like they will have sick puppies

Not because of the mixing but if you did not do health and genetic testing as well as dont know there lines then they very well could but breeding those two together is considered mixing and frowned upon.

She has a large white patch on her chest and across a couple feet.

Contact the Biewer registeries or a Biewer Club with your questions....I think you will get more concise, accurate, up to date information .....You may want to ask if you can register this litter with AKC....Biewers are not registered with AKC....they have their own registeries....you have "outcrossed" with this breeding, and actually, that is not such a terrible idea, as the gene pool for Biewers is/was very concentrated. They were having issues in Germany years ago, with genetic defects because of the concentrated gene pool.....when they started importing Biewers to the US, with all the Biewers we have here, I am not knowledgable enough to try to direct you.....I would contact a Biewer registry to get my questions answered....You need to do the genetic testing on both dam and sire, and really be knowledgable about the pedigrees of both.....that way, you will know if one or the other throws pups with genetic issues....bad knees, bad eyes, liver, heart, kidney issues, etc.....out crossing those two pedigrees in itself, is not a bad thing....it is just if you have no idea what is behind your breeding pair's heritage.....knowledgable, educated outcrossing of pedigrees is actually a good thing.

My male is a traditional yorkie gold and silver and my female is a biewer we breed them because we had homes lined up. As my mentor said some people don't like to mix different colors yorkies. Anyways they have a 11 day old yorkie female she has 3 white paws and a big spot of white on the chest other than that she is traditional yorkie looking black and tan. We will just have to see once she gets bigger my daughters keeping her so I will have constant contact.

I just know that big Biewer people and Biewer breeders frown upon it big time because there has been a post on here about it and they see it as mix breeding like if you bred a maltise and a yorkie.

A Biewer is not exactly a yorkie so it's not just a different color yorkie.

Well there is lots of controversy and opinions I just told this to my mentor who has been breeding over 20 years from which who I aquired my yorkie from and she believes a biewer is a yorkie. If you put my two yorkies together they have the same body frame same short baby doll face. Vary similar exempt for the color.

:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: Biewers and Yorkies are separate breeds, despite their resemblance in physical appearance. They can be distinguished by genetic testing. But to answer the OP's question, unless the Yorkie is a carrier of the piebald or parti-color gene, the offspring of Biewer by standard Yorkie are going to resemble the standard Yorkie in color, with possibly some small white highlights, as mentioned previously. The offspring of such a cross are called "splitters" because they're heterozygous for the gene responsible for Biewer color. If you're trying to breed purebred Yorkies or Biewers, it's definitely a bad idea to cross the two together. Yorkies are supposed to be bred with Yorkies, and Biewers are supposed to be bred with Biewers.

Then the AKC would register them......

I was asking because I considered getting one of the pups. I think when people say it is a "mixed breed and frowned upon", some of the healthiest and best dogs I've gotten from the pound have been mixed breed. I am not looking for a show dog just a pup I can be mom too. I have looked in shelter in my area by the way but can never find a small dog and when I do they want like $500 adoption fee!!!

Google BIEWER, it's a cross breed, not AKC accepted, not a TRUE YORKIE, BUT, they are BEAUTIFUL, Me being a YORKIE LOVER If I could get one like in the pic I am attaching I would RUN, NOT WALK and get it,

Adopting a mix breed is a great thing to do. It is frowned upon to purposely breed mixed breed puppies when their are so many in the shelters. These yorkie/biewer puppies would be nothing more than mutts and while I love mutts just as much as the next person the point is you shouldn't get a puppy from someone who is willing to breed mutts and probably call them 'designer' and put a big price tag on them. You would be better off adopting.

Then get the BIEWER, as long as you are aware it is not a TRUE BREED YORKIE, and not AKC accepted, get it. There are many "DESIGNER" DOGS, once called MUTTS, cockerpoos, maltapoos, lapadoodle, all BEAUTIFUL dogs, if you are looking to have, to love, to enjoy, not looking to breed and sell "designer" dog, go for it. these once called MUTTS, now called DESIGNER dogs are beautiful, if you want a true friend forever, a buddy, companion, get your BIEWER, they are beautiful dogs. THANK YOU, THANK YOU,THANK YOU, lol. today a once called USED CAR is now called A "PREOWNED" CAR, today a MUTT is now called "A DESIGNER DOG" a rose by any other name is still a !!!!!. "Designer" dogs are selling for as much as a pure breed dog WHY? because ppl fall in love with the look of the dogs and pay the asking price, I have seen these inter breed dogs selling for $1500.00 lol, I KNOW ppl that have paid that price for maltapoos, yes, they are beautiful, beautiful dogs. Well it is what it is, is all that I can say, but I would like to thank you for agreeing there is no such thing as a DESIGNER dog, its a MUTT, lol, BUT, beautiful MUTTS.

The thing about it is a reputable good breeder, breeds to better the breed and mixes are not a breed and breeders who mix breeds normally don't do the genetic and health testing that you want done so you can make sure you are getting the healthiest puppy possible that's least likely to end up with genetic illnesses.

Respectable Ethical Biewer Show Breeders breed Biewer to Biewer. Breeding a Biewer to a Yorkshire Terrier would be mixing.

So very true. And most Biewer registries will not register this mix either.
