Hello was wondering wat to feed my 8 week Yorkie is bill jack ok

I wouldn't feed it to my dog
Chicken, Chicken By-Products (organs only, source of arginine), Corn Meal, Chicken By-Product Meal, Oatmeal, Dried Beet Pulp, Brewers Dried Yeast, Flaxseed, DL-Methionine, L-Lysine, Sodium Propionate and Mixed Tocopherols (preservatives), Salt, Vitamin A Acetate, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Vitamin E Supplement, Riboflavin Supplement, Niacin, Biotin, Choline Chloride, Folic Acid, Thiamine Mononitrate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6), Ascorbic Acid, Vitamin B12 Supplement, D-Calcium Pantothenate, Manganous Oxide, Inositol, BHA (a preservative), Ferrous Sulfate, Copper Sulfate, Zinc Oxide, Cobalt Carbonate, Potassium Iodide, Sodium Selenite, Rosemary Extract.

I also won't use their treats because they contain propylene glycol

How long have you had the baby? I am not an advocate of getting a brand new baby, and while they are trying to adjust to loosing everything in their little life that has been familiar to them, and they are trying to adjust to all new environment and people and schedule, the only thing that baby has that he can relate to is the food the breeder had him on.....so I would leave him on what the breeder had him on until he is at least 12 weeks old...and has adjusted to his new home.....then you can slowly change his diet to whatever you decide on. (My babies are still with their mommas, nursing, at 8 weeks of age....my babies are not released to new homes until at least 14 weeks of age, after they are weaned....)

I personally would not feed Bil Jack. If that's what the breeder was feeding, then wait a few weeks until he adjusts - and then switch to a better quality food. Maybe get Wellness from PetSmart?

just as the others said, I would not feed it, wait until he is home for a few weeks then try something new, do it over 7- 10 days so they dont get sick

:thumbup:I agree I don't know why breeders are releasing these baby's so young especially yorkies being so tiny. :confused:

Some don't know they should stay with there moms until 12 weeks which would worry about the other things they don't know and some just don't care and just want the money.

That tells you so much about them. I hate it when people only care about the money. :confused:

Anyone no anything about natural balance puppy food went to my local pets Mary an they highly recommend it

I would try to pick one of the NB formulas that have the higher protein/fat content for your puppy (like the Synergy or even the Alpha lines). If I remember correctly, most of their formulas are all life stages so you could feed it to pups but most of them are kinda low in protein and fat. I'm not sure most of their formulas would be my first choice for a puppy food (aside from the ones I mentioned above), just from my personal experience. Teddy came to me when he was around 9-10 months old and his previous owner had him on NB Organics (discontinued) but it was pretty low in fat/protein/calories and Teddy had poor skin/coat (very dry, coarse) and his hips, spine, and ribs were protruding (he was also not neutered at the time so I'm sure that also increased what his intake should have been).

All of this turned around after I switched him to a different food (I want to say it was Wellness Core that I put him on first...I can't remember for certain). I think a lot of him not doing well on NB had to do with him needing such a large amount of the food (which he wasn't getting prior to living with us) to support his growth and body condition.

With that being said, I do like NB for some dogs. My parents feed this to their beagle who is very sensitive and she does really well on the Natural Balance LID formulas. And I like to use the sample bags of this to supplement Toki's canned/wet food from time to time.
