Whole Dog Journal lists best dry foods About a year or so ago, I subscribed to The Whole Dog Journal when I was researching what food I should feed Carter, my then only yorkie and new pup. I've enjoyed the information they have provided throughout the year as well as their selection of top dog foods. The newest edition of the journal has been released (February, 2006) and it contains their latest list of best foods. Not only does it tell you which foods they find acceptable, it also tells you what to look for on labels so that you can make your own decision when comparing different foods available. I found the article very educational and am glad I'm still a subscriber to have had it at my disposal. With three yorkies under our roof, I'm always interested in keeping my yorkies as healthy as possible. If you're wondering, I'm currently feeding my babies Innova and have been since before Hurricane Katrina/Rita - don't remember exactly how long before then but am happy I did find an acceptable food. Here's the link to their website. http://www.whole-dog-journal.com/ Hope you might discover something interesting as well. Lisa |

Lisa where do you buy Innova? |

Is there any way you could post the list of the best dry dog foods, so the non-members could see it? Thanks a bunch! :) |

There is a feed store in New Orleans on Jefferson Hwy right near the river that has ALL the good foods in stock. That is the only place locally I can find it. I was going to purchase Canidae but liked the Innova so . . . . woman's perogative, I changed my mind. hehe Here's a link to the Fort Worth search on their site -- 3 vendors. http://www.naturapet.com/display.php...ame=&x=20&y=12 Here's a link to their main site. I feed the Innova Puppy Food to all 3 of mine and Carter is almost 18 months old (at a whopping 3.6#). http://www.naturapet.com/display.php...3D%27502%27%5D There is a compare tool on the right side to see the differences between competitor foods! |

They don't list them by rank only by what they feel is a good food. Plus the article tells you which items they like in foods and which they do not and why so that you can make your own informed decision. They specifically say that while their list is extensive, it is not complete. Subscriptions are only $16 for 13 issues -- 13 full months of articles for less than a nickel a day. It is a great investment for the welfare of your pups. |
