The POOP MONSTER vs. Athena lol The poop monster strikes again. Lately he has been striking once a day. Poor athena runs through the house trying to get away from him, terrified. Tonight she ran strait for me like MOMMY SAVE ME! Only problem is, she tens to leave a trail of poo droplets behind her. for those who dont know what im talking about. I wrote another thread discussing this about a week ago. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...ena-weird.html Sometimes when Athena poo's, not all of it drops as fast as she wants it to an she screams an cries like shes being attacked by a monster. She tears through the house, tail tucked between her tail an you would think something just beat her or something. Come to find out, she is not the only weird one. found out on my other thread that several others are visited by the poop monster as well....rofl silly dogs. :lol tears |
Chip is a year old and he still does it, if it don't all drop off.lol:rolleyes: |
Have you used trimmers and trimmed his rear end ? I know the same thing happens with Gizmo and he acts like he's being attacked as he runs for his life lol, that's when I know it's time for a trim hehehe. |
Lol, yes I checked ,and it needed a trim. |

Ricky doesn't run and cry...but he's had a few episodes where it's got stuck back there...most recently, when he came home from the vets. I wrote about the episode he had before that. I found him in his little firehouse hiding and licking him bum like crazy. His whole backside was sopping wet. I don't know why he tried to hide to clean it off....I don't know if he thought he was going to be in trouble or what. He did get a butt bath, but he wasn't in trouble by any means. If anything, I felt really bad for the poor little guy. |

I have Gizmo on raw diet mixed with smaller amount of kibble, and his stick together really well so it all falls at once lol. When I had him on just kibble, it would come out in many pieces, and this is what would get him running, along with needing a trim. He hasn't seemed to do it much anymore since I started adding the raw diet. |

I know that is what it is. I do clean her off afterwards, but that doesnt stop it from happening to begin with. I am currently in the process of transitioning her from canned food to kibble ( wellness core) she is only 8 week sold and her first set of teeth are almost all the way in, but not completely. the vet told me to keep her on canned until they were in. they are in well enough now she can eat the kibble, but he isnt use to it yet, so were slowly transitioning her. her poo is soft, but not at all runny. It pretty much all comes out in one piece but i think the end of it sticks. Thats when she crys and needs to be cleaned off. i dont blame her. I wouldnt want it on me either. but lord she doesnt have to scream bloody murder and give us a heart attacks.....rofl. Were getting use to it now though. |
At 8 weeks old, transitioning to dry food.... make sure she's getting enough water, either in her food or drinking from the bowl. (some Yorkies are a bit slow/preoccupied with life and having fun and forget to stop to eat and drink) A dab of Preparation H on the anus may make her more comfortable. |
Hi everyone! I am a newbie to posting but I have visited the site often for help with Max, 5 month old yorkie. I tried to make a new post but I dont see it listed so I thought I would comment on a poop related post and hopefully get an answer :) My problem is smelly poop....Max stool is EXTREMELY smelly so is his gas. By extremely smelly I mean we need to air out the room, car, just evacuate the whole area! It is really that bad :( I Googled and read this may be some bacteria in his intestines but before I run to the vet I wanted to get some advice. Thanks in advance! |

It take time for some posts to be reviewed before they are actually up. Happened to me the first few posts. Regarding smelly poop, what are you feeding your baby? Maybe it's the diet too because my pup used to be on canned food and omg his stools smell horrible, and soft! But I switched him to dry food and they got firmer and barely smell unless you get down real close to it. |
