Nutri scan question For those of you who have this did you do it at your vets or at home? Do they send you a secure envelope to use? And how much saliva is required and how do you get that?! Thanks for any info |
I did the NutriScan test for Turbo. You can order it from here: NutriScan Food Sensitivity and Intolerance Test for Cats and Dogs They send you everything you need & the test results will be emailed to you. You can also directly email w/Dr.Dodds w/any questions. The string doesn't need to be soaked in saliva, I didn't use any treats. I was worried that maybe not enough saliva got on there but Dr. Dodds assured me that they got enough. Here's my thread, it has pics of the test kit & the test result on post #10: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...-test-kit.html Does Zoey have food intolerance/sensitivity issues? You can go over their FAQ's page, it's very informational! Frequently Asked Questions about NutriScan Turbo can have beef, pumpkin & eggs, he hasn't thrown up...:D I avoid all the proteins he can't have & he's doing excellent! |
Thank you thank you thank you! I will do that. Thinking of going to the vet today. She has issues alright, she doesn't seem to like anything and there is sooo much to pick from in dog food and flavors! I have so much here and ready to go get more! She's active and has no other issues but food. Does have a wierd little single hack I never figured out every now and then. But has had that since we got her. She is 9 months yesterday and I/2 lb shy of 3 1/2 lbs. She is filled out for her size but I don't know how! When she was eating good it was only 2 tab at a time:) Only licks paws at bedtime and morning , like regular doggy grooming I take it. Have you ever heard of the "hack"??? Thanks for your input , I really appreciate it. |
Just ordered mine. |
I was going over the faq's & saw this: 28. If my pet tests reactive to hen’s eggs, will he likely react to chicken? Presumably he will also react to chicken. So, Turbo is reactive to chicken, but he's not reactive to eggs. Why not? What came 1st, the chicken or the egg...:D here's the answer: 29. Fewer dogs showed food reactivity to soy (25%) and very few to egg (3%). The 'hack'? Mine do that once in awhile. It can be allergies or something got stuck in their throat...if it's something she does often, then maybe taking a vid of it & showing the vet? |

I never know know when she is going to do it. It's probably only once a day and usually in morning, but it still bugs me:) Like dry throat maybe. |

"If my pet tests reactive to cow’s milk, will he likely react to cheese made from milk? No, he shouldn’t as most, but not all, cheese is made from the whey fraction of milk. " Seems like it would be us as humans being lactose intolerant. Can you eat cheese ? Hmmmm Just read FAQ"s ...so it's safe assume not to feed your dog, corn, wheat, beef, and cows milk! Wowwww So many reactions to it..... I know a vet tech once told me her vet is adament " do not feed your dog beef!" And I remembered that. |

Also That's a lot of money.....do they tell you what not to feed your pet or do they give you percentages and you have to guess.... |

NutriScan recommend retesting, but Turbo is doing excellent, so I won't be retesting...for now (unless he starts throwing up again). Will just be rotating the proteins & trying new things. Waiting on a order of Stella & Chewy's Rabbit & Pheasant (both freeze dried, bc that's what he likes:D). |

I fed Stella & Chewy freeze dried and Cali liked it but I couldn't take the overall smell it gave her. |

Mimi & Turbo get Primal freeze dried Duck bc they won't eat the frozen even tho they liked it b4. They get K9Natural freeze dried lamb green tripe for their evening snack. Princess & Momo get the Primal frozen Lamb for lunch & get the freeze dried Duck as the evening snack. That's the menu for now!:D Quote:
